If a friend and I wanted to do a regular 8 man rumble pit match, is there any way to do that? Every time we were linked together, and would try to do an optimatch, it would not let us cuz it thought we wanted to play as a team. We just wanted wanted to run around and kill each other with 6 other strangers doing more of the same. Am i overlooking something silly? or is it just not posible?

You should be able to play with a guest/friend on Rumble Training.

It'd screw up the rankings if they let you log into the All vs All multiplayer modes with a guest, plus it'd be incredibly unfair if you decided to team up.

You could also do a custom game type of thing.

Two people in the same party or room can't do a rumble pit together.
