Silly question, but if i work for a cell phone carrier...

...will i be more or less required to use their service? My cell phone contract with Sprint ended a few months ago, and i've got a potential technical service manager position available with Alltel (local CDMA carrier), but aside from the Motorola V710, their phones suck. The service is good for standard CDMA, but i'd much rather have GSM service with AT&T or another carrier.

pretty much yes, but depends how high up you are, and whether you are customer-facing.

upside is that if they do require you to have their service, you'll almost certainly get a free phone and contract.
