Hm, I found myself checking and comparing prices for SimCity lately. Haven't done this for long time for a game pre-release. Haven't played the beta myself or even watched much beta footage, it's just I'm kinda in the appropriate mood and have the mindset for that kind of game right now.

What's the cheapest place to buy this digitally? I live in Australia but I can pre-order it for $59.99 with $7 cashback from Greenmangaming. That's assuming the US Origin code will work with my Australian account (anyone know if it will?)

I was on the fence after the first beta, but the second beta and the fact that the game was 45 bucks at Amazon cinched it for me. The game is fun, but it wasn't full price fun for me. I'd love to see regions condensed or city size increased (quadrupled, preferably).

I hate with a passion EA´s intrusive policy on using origin, the requirement to be always online, the fucking DRM...etc, but this game is beautiful, addictive, vibrant, really lovely.

No it doesn't. It asks you which region do you want to register on Origin when you input a key.

I can't use that coupon when buying the game, it says there's no items available to use the discount. At least not from the US. The game has a 10 buck GMG credit if you pre-purchase it though.

£45 is ridiculous for a digital PC game. :/

It's £35 for a boxed copy at Amazon, even that's still priced a bit higher than new retail PC games usually are.

I really wanted the game, but I wanted the Digital Deluxe pack. Since I can't buy it from Origin, because my account is locked in some fraud limbo since it was hacked for FIFA points back in July (and EA doesn't bother to fix it despite my numerous tickets), I think I'll skip on the pre-order and get it when it goes up for sale on GMG.

Yes ofcourse! The persistent online world is the best thing about this SimCity.

Thanks for the comments on the OT guys! It's my first one so I was a bit anxious about it lol. I'll update the post after work with the current live streaming promotion, a change in Australia's date as well as other bits and pieces. I'll probably include GAF's beta regions in the City Showcase section too

You should probably add a GAF Origin username friendlist, so that GAF members have an easy way too add other members if they need people to play with. Like in the Diablo III thread.
