Yeah, if it's written by old writers, then I welcome it. Otherwise, eh.

I hope it concerns The Simpsons traveling someplace and having lots of crazy adventures!

Oh, and Homer can drop a brick on his toe!

I like the news of possible Futurama movies in the works direct to DVD. Can't remember if I read it on Chud or Aint it cool. They were talking to Billy West who just had some talks with Fox who were impressed with the sales of Futurama DVD's. I guess it goes too show if you buy up the DVD's of your favorite cancelled shows they might get ressurected.

"You know what? We've just done the table read for the 'Simpsons' movie so although we've been promoting that we're going to do it, now we're actually doing it and are in production. I'm sure it won't take any less than a couple of years. I don't know the name of it and I can't go into details about it and we'll just have to see how it goes, but I think it's going to be great and the fans are going to dig it" said the voice actress.

Yeah, she seems very enthusiastic. *cough*

"The Simpsons" spokesperson Antonia Coffman told E! Online that Matt Groenig is delighted with the storyline for the film and that the cast and crew are in place.

"Now we're going to get the best of both worlds, evidently. They finally worked out a movie team, a team of the writers, because we could never hire outside writers ... and they've been working on the script. So the movie won't be at the end of the series - they'll be working simultaneously."

Coffman says that there are still many details to iron out before the feature kicks into high gear, including who's going to do the animation--Film Roman, which has done so since the TV series' inception, or another production house.

What's Brad Bird doing? He's not doing anything, right?
Hopefully he's beginning to hash out any of the dozens of great ideas floating around his head. I'd much prefer that than wasting time coming back to fight the futile fight and save The Simpsons.

I would have to think that Bird is likely taking a nice long vacation before moving into planning for his next Pixar production...but I have to assume that he'll likely have a role in basic storyboarding and character design for the Simpsons film. He was too much of an integral part of the initial design of the show to not have him involved in any way, shape or form. While I'm much more interested in his next film than the Simpsons one, I think he was an important part of the show's development and should be brought in as a consultant.
