Slowdown on the Gameboy Player?

Has anyone else experienced sudden huge frame rate drops while playing GBA games on their GBP? This has been bugging me for a while, I was just playing Mario & Luigi on it and the slowdown at times was annoying me so much that I quit and started playing it on GBA SP. This makes no sense. I have a PAL GBP... could this be a PAL thing? because I haven't seen many complaints about this.

Every few seconds or so mine will drop a few frames or pause for a moment. It's mostly visible when there's a background scrolling. I've heard it reported by other users, and it's pretty irritating. I've got an NTSC cube, btw.

Yeah that's it, I guess it's not just a PAL thing.

Did you play in 50Hz?
60Hz

Well I noticed that there's some slowdown when the filter option is at "sharp". That's why I always keep it at "normal" or at worst "soft". I have no idea if the PAL version has that though.

every game boy player does this, for every region console. and yes, it's irritating.

i heard some complaints about this back when the GBP launched, had something to do with games that had fast scrolling motions in them... i dont think i ever really noticed it...
