How is J&D updated exactly? Up to par with the PS3 versions now?

It’s uprendered in a new PS4 & PS5 emulator, it’s no longer the PS3 version that updated in 2017.

I recently platinumed the HD trilogy and they look pretty good on PS3.

The biggest upgrade with these latest games is the rewind feature.

Yeah, rewind and the ability to change the controls. I booted up the first Jak game yesterday and forgot that the fucking camera was inverted but luckily would easily just switch is in the emulator settings.

Is it stretched or did they actually expand the viewable area?

It's okay to play with black bars on oled because burn in only affects areas with lit pixels. There may be some inconsistent aging if done for a great period, but it won't burn in on the black bars themselves(is my understanding).

If they are stretching the image in cloud you can just do that better with your TV controller.

It's a remaster of the Ps3 games.

This is the ps2 version which is different.

Since Jak and Daxter run in a similar engine as the PS2 Ratchet & Clank games, perhaps the PS2 Emulation team can reverse use Jak and Daxter's engine as a basic to reverse engineer the PS2 Ratchet & Clank games as it's clear that Insomniac Games is too busy to spare coders.

Way ahead of ya my friend. Started a game today. 3 times the native resolution looks really nice.

No one mentions, that wide screen in all these collections tends to glitch out. (For example, you can sometimes see stuff you shouldnt, and a lot of textures are blurred out, or stretched.) Of course, the Sly collection isnt as bad, as the awful Ratchet collection, but It still has a bunch of issues, that these emulated ones dont. If you are willing to sacrifice normie widescreen for shaper textures and no glitches, then you'll enjoy your time with these new releases. I am actually surprised to see that nothing has been cut out, and nothing is broken in these ps5 versions of the game. All run smooth and load very fast. I remember the loading screens in the HD versions werent too funny.
