For those that didn't see Smackdown tonight, Paul London defended the Cruiserweight Title against Billy Kidman. During the match, he got busted open and bled quite a bit, and a heck of a lot more than would be expected on broadcast TV.

Anyway, there is a clip on WWE.com showing different angles of how he was busted open (his head hit the steel part of the bottom turnbuckle). It also showed a blood soaked Paul London cutting an intense promo on Kidman and Chavo Guererro, who attacked him after the match was over.

It reminds me a lot of an ROH promo. Sitting in the locker room, completely covered in blood. You don't see a lot of those types of promos coming from WWE today, and i'm glad they allowed him to cut a promo like that and even though its not on TV, its on the internet, so an audience like us can appreciate it.

That was great. Too bad it will likely never see airtime during WWE tv, even in the b&w format. Also, London needs to drop the fucking bearskin and tassels. "Futuristic Caveman" my ass. He rocks and doesn't need that shit.

there is a chance a B&W version could pop up next week. They normally save stuff for web exclusives for a week and then put them on to try and get you to check out the website for that type of stuff.

and the tassles rock.. Von Erich style (bringing new meaning to the please dont die chant :lol )... that stupid bear skin is another story.

Nice. Low key but intense. Proves that you don't have to scream and yell during a promo to be effective, I wish the WWE engineered more backstage promos like this and less vignettes. Why are you fighting? Because the belt means something tangible.

It would be good if they show the video, it just seems so weird they start up Crusierweight feuds and stuff and just drop em.

I mean last night proved pretty much what is wrong with SD at the moment, the beginning interview with the exception of Taker and Cena had pretty much the only recognizable and popular people on SmackDown, who are all top-tier stars for the most part. They really need to build up a mid-card and well some people to fight over the US title.
