Old?? Did a search etc...

SNESTYL v.3 is out for the PSP. 2 versions.

You may also notice that there are two different versions of SNESTYL now. The standard version, which runs in user mode, and is for users who run 2.0+. Then there is Kernel mode, me, for users of 1.0 and 1.5 version PSP's. In kernel mode, me is used for sound processing.

I just tried the kernel mode version and I'm getting 50-60 fps on Super Mario 3 and Gradius with no frameskip and full 44 khz frequency sampling. I noticed some graphical issues like Super Mario Kart doesn't display but the other few games I tried looks good.

If you enjoy this emulator please make a paypal donation to these guys. The address is in the emu.

Awesome.

Still holding out for a really good GBE Emu though, the screen ratio of the GBA matches the PSP more closely and the graphics are a little neater. Note the width of the characters on screen, and the quality of the clouds in the sky.

FFIV on my PSP.

SO this doesn't work with the new GTA eLoader that came out about a week ago for us 2.6 people? How about on 2.5? Or is there not that large of a difference between the two?

I think the 2.6 is still special (less mem available I think), it might work on 2.5

the 2.6 loader is pretty hawt but homebrew loads less than half the time.....its a pretty tiresome process really.....oh well id rather wait for a more stable exploit.

What emulators are at 100% for the PSP?

The DGen i'm using is at 1.3. All games i've used so far work and it has Multiple Savestates, Turbo, Change Controller buttons and other features. The best Sega emulator for the PSP.

NeoCD is hot at 333mhz, might be slight slowdown here or there but nothing you'd complain about, and it might even be emulated slowdown, I can never tell.

Last I checked PSPGenesis was still a little bit faster in some games... uhm... have you tried both recently ?

The only thing I hate about Dgens is that you can't have a proper 6 button setup since you enter the menu using the L button. Unless, there is a way to change this I can't really enjoy the SF2 games (Already got the DPad from the SFZ3 JP Pack..It ROCKS.)

Panajev2001a: How does the SF2 games run on PSPGenesis? Also, does it allow you to have a proper 6 button setup? :)

I couldn't find an updated version of PSPGenesis (only DGen). The PSP Homebrew sites i've been going to are horrible when it comes to updated software. I've only tried this one and another. DGen seems to runs the games at a nice speed (love the Turbo also).

Did you try the last version of PSPGenesis at PSP Updates (I know it is old, but it has been quite good o me :D ;)) ? How do the two compare ?

Edit: for the poster who asked, yes PSPGenesis supports 6-buttons configuration.

DGen 1.10 does work on FW 2.00 according to fanjita's compatibility list for the old EBOOT Loader (the eLOADER is the new GTA based one).

Panajev: About your question about PSPGenesis. I tried the PSPGenesis at PSPUpdates and compared to DGen (the most current version) I would choose DGen since its very feature rich. It also runs the games flawlessy. The thing is, alot of the newer releases (theres probably a new release of PSPGenesis floating around) aren't really centralized that well. Took me a nice while before I found the newest version of DGen.

Using 0.3me. At first I wasn't noticing much increase in speed... then I noticed that the default settings for the new version included VSync being on. So for the game I was testing, essentially the change from 0.2 to 0.3 means that I can keep the same speed with either a free change from 22khz sound to 44khz sound, VSync off to VSync on, or frameskip of 2 to frameskip of 1, but not more than one of these.

However, the sound glitches are a bit weird. Occasionally a buzz, or knock, or... basically a sound that shouldn't be there. Time will tell if it happens frequently enough and is annoying enough to make me want to use the previous version.

I often stretch the image in platforming games (like Donkey Kong Country). Others games I try to keep its original 4:3 aspect ratio but blow it up a little with filtering.
