Swear to god there hasn't been a skit yet where he didn't stumble over his lines, blatantly read cue cards... it's like he just showed up for the dress rehersal and that's it.

He sucked ass the last time he was on. He sucks. Hard. I hate him on SNL. Get some fucking real hosts, please!

The cold opening and first sketch are redos of other sketches to boot. How lame.

The only reason I'm bothering to watch is that my college town is now deserted after finals, and I'm actually suffering some late-occuring head trauma after that fainting I mentioned in the finals thread (for those who read it).

I think it's only exacerbating the mystery-pressure-in-my-head-that-doctors-cannot-identify.

Any links to the Muppet appearance? I was out last night, missed SNL...seems I missed little bit an appearance by some childhood favorites.

I still can't believe the Muppets were sold to Disney.

It got them a new TV Movie (Wizard of Oz), a spot on the Emmy red carpet, a huge spot on Good Morning America earlier this week, and now a spot on SNL...seems to me like it's been a fairly positive move for them.

Now Henson needs to get the Fraggle Rock rights moving again. Mush, Mush.

It remains to be seen how much good Disney will do for The Muppets, or even how much Disney as a whole even cares about the property.

Let's just say there are reports of both good and bad possibilities for their use in the future...

*ahem*

I read the Jim Hill article, and there are definitely some problems with FUTURE developments...but Henson and EM.TV weren't even doing anything in the present.

Oh, I wouldn't argue there. I'm just saying, there's a distinct possibility that The Muppets will be treated in a way that long-time fans will dislike, so that raises the question as to whether new Muppets are better than no Muppets. After all, Disney has no problem treating the properties it created like dirt, let alone ones it merely purchases.

It is nice to see The Muppets being given a shot though. Very nice, indeed.

XXXXX DRUDGE REPORT XXXXX SUN DEC 19, 2004 21:00:38 ET XXXXX

BACKSTAGE CONTROVERSY AFTER NBC DEPICTION OF LIMBAUGH

NBC's comedy depiction of talkradio king Rush Limbaugh passed-out in vomit from drug abuse ignited backstage outrage at SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE.

The animated sketch left one senior production source stunned and outraged, the DRUDGE REPORT has learned.

"Would we have done this to [John] Belushi? [Chris] Farley?" the source said on Sunday from New York.

The source asked not to be identified fearing retribution from SNL's executive producer Lorne Michaels.

"We've had more fu**ing drug addicts on this show through the years... more tragedy. I have lost count. Did we ever have some laughs about Robert Downey Jr.'s serious drug addiction?"

The crass montage which aired on NBC featured Limbaugh vomiting from drugs on a bathroom floor, in an apparent overdose.

Last year, Limbaugh announced to his radio audience that he was seeking treatment for an addiction to pain medication.

Calls to Michaels office went unreturned late Sunday.

Developing...

While the skit that was in was funny (Dumbfuckistan!), I guess that one part was in bad taste seeing the history SNL has.
