Snowblind Acquires BG: Dark Alliance License

No Mutants Allowed is reporting that Snowblind Studios has acquired an exclusive license for future non-MMORPG Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance titles. Apparently that means that the remaining Interplay employees have a BG:DA MMORPG planned...

I wonder this is the title they set to announce after E3. For the record, Snowblind would be unveiling thier new project after E3.

G-d damn it! So they can go right along and f-ck the series up again? DAII was kinda back on the right track, now III is probably gonna be a completely unbalanced mess again!

The new project is rumored to be funded by Majesco.

To be honest, I'm just leaving things up to speculation. I know Clint Worley seem to have hinted that there might just be 3rd Champions title. Not just that, but the SOE upcoming fan fair in June seems to point a unveiling of more titles since its focusing on more than just EverQuest.

Like I said however, things are up to speculation.

Coulda swore someone in-the-know told me that Snowblind's next project was going to be funded by WB Interactive... and that it'd be a cold day in hell before they ever signed on with SOE or SCEA again.

Wha...?!

DA2 sucked, it was exactly like DA1 but the level design was utter garbage, and most boss fights (specially the last two) absolutely laughable. It had a few nice ideas, all underplayed. The first was... well, ok. At least it was original. And that was Snowblind's doing, hey.

You haven't liked the series from beginning. Please stop acting like you care.

If everyone started doing that then online discussions would drop by at least 70%

I don't see how this could be bad news...especially considering how unfun the second game proved to be...though I did like some of the concepts and of course the fact that YOU CAN PLAY AS A MONK IN A DIABLO-LIKE

I've got both DAs, hell, even the GBA version. 1 was a mess (shop equipment and looting systems were fricken broken), but 2 was pretty good, imho. Fixed alot of the first game's imbalances.

I don't know. One of the devs seem to have hinted they'll be working with SOE again, especially with the fact SOE has a base of operation in Seattle.

Snowblind + SOE = more buggy Champions games.

as long as Snowblind fixes the money system from 2 (share money? wtf, what's the point in that?) and maybe the dupe problem it'll be a good game.

oh yeah, and let the player buy crystals. My wife and I played Champions 2 from level 45-80 and found zero Misty Globes. that's just impossible, I don't care how random you make the appearances.
