So.... I inherited an old Japanese Game Center

My girlfriend's Grandma bought a old building in Chiba, Japan. The first two floors, it turns out, are an old game center reaching back to around the mid 80s.

She said she was just going to toss it all out, but I convinced her that there was value in it. So, she gave it to me and said "Do whatever you want. If you can sell them, you can keep the money,"

UPDATE JULY 2:

All machines and spare parts have been bought in a mass order. I appreciate everyone's support and interest. Sorry for those who didn't get machines. Either way, it was a wild ride :)

I assume there are lots of arcades that would want the machines, if nothing else. It'd be great to keep it open though. lol

You lucky sob. Enjoy whatever you will do with that goldmine!

So... yeah, I own a Game center now. Any advice on what to do with it?

Pics are too hi-res to post here without stretching waaay off the forum, so I put them all here:

So wait, do you just get the machines, or those two floors too?

Taking inventory should be the first step, including testing them out and seeing what condition they're in.

Then keep the ones you want and sell the rest at the appropriate market price.

What. Can I have a cab or two. I'll pick them up~

I can drive over, save me an astro cab and the change machine pls.

I always find things like that to be kind of sad. I know those machines don't have feelings, but just seeing them sitting unplayed for years kind of tears at my heartstrings. All those fun times....gone.

Hope they see happy times wherever they end up.

hahah re-open it as a drinking establishment with live music and tokens and tickets and prizes, etc.

a live disco and punk music band. and a 70s, 80s music dj.

Have regular SFEX2 parties for a start!

But seriously (maybe) you could clean it up and charge an exorbitant price per play and have it be the only "English conversation arcade" in Japan.

It's probably too expensive to get them all appraised, but you could consider selling some of them to avid collectors.
