That's right. At the tail-end of the current gen. I never thought I'd own all 3 systems at any point in time, but 2 stupid-crazy-insanely-amazing-OMGWTF! deals came my way.

GC
4 controllers
1 memory card
Metroid Prime 2
Mario Kart Double Dash
$120

X-Box
2 controllers (both 3rd party, who cares?)
1 memory card
Ninja Gaiden
DoA Beach Volleyball
$50

Yes. It's good to know people who are bored with their systems. 50 fucking bucks. @_@ I named the price as a joke and my buddy was just "sure. That's the price I was actually thinking of anyways." CANADA BOY GET.

At this point I'm just waiting for the backwards compatability of next gen for my XBOX needs. Great deals, though.
I think you should trade Echoes for MP, though.

Damn, all that for $170. Nice job. You can pick up Super Smash Bros. for cheap and that'll easy beat the gamecube bundle that Nintendo is coming out with.

Amazing Xbox deal.

Now:

Xbox:
Panzer Dragoon Orta
Chronicles of Riddick
Knights of the Old Republic
Knights of the Old Republic II
Psychonauts

GC:
The Wind Waker
Skies of Arcadia Legends
Pikmin 2
Super Smash Bros. Melee
Star Wars Rogue Squadron II
Paper Mario

I think you should trade Echoes for MP, though.
Trade? Why? Both games are dirt cheap. I agree that the original is better, but there is no point in trading away the sequel when the original is so cheap and the sequels trade-in value is so small.

Just like Olimario, Im waiting for Xbox360 to buy the Xbox games that I want. They are both very good deals, especially the Xbox deal. Are you sure that your friends Xbox works properly though?

MP is the first GC game I plan on buying. For the X-Box it will be Jet Set Radio Future, likely followed by Panzer Dragoon Orta, Shenmue II, or Halo. I don't plan on doing any online stuff, so Knights of the Old Republic might be out. Will likely also get Wind Waker, and maybe 4 Swords for the Cube...do you need the GBA version to play it at all, or can you just hook it up and go with 3 other people?

Positive. He's a buddy of mine and I've played the system. As long as it doesn't catch fire, I'm good.

You could probably score those three Sega games for a total of $10. :P I'm serious.

Of course, I paid $50 for JSRF and Orta (not SMII, as I played it on DC first and picked it up cheap on XBOX later on). Hey, they were worth it. Gunvalkyrie rocks too.

1. Knights of the Old Republic is singleplayer. It isnt Galaxies. Also, it rocks.
2. You can play FSA in singleplayer (wont need a GBA + link cable), but I recommend multi (need a GBA + link cable for each player).
3. I highly recommend the DC PAL Shenmue II if you're a Shenmue fan. The lack of English VA really helped.

Awesome stuff.

GC:

Metroid Prime / Metroid Prime 2: Echoes
Beyond Good & Evil
Donkey Konga 1/2
Donkey Kong Jungle Beat
Killer 7
Legend of Zelda Collectors Edition
Legend of Zelda: Four Swords
Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker
Luigi's Mansion
Resident Evil (the remake)
Resident Evil 4
Rogue Squadron II: Rogue Leader
...Rogue Leader: Rebel Strike
Super Monkey Ball / Super Monkey Ball 2
Wario Ware Mega Party Game$

Xbox
Burnout 3: Takedown
Chronicles of Riddick: Escape from Butcher Bay
Conker Live & Uncut
Doom III
Halo 1 / 2
Knights of The Old Republic
Jet Set Radio Future
Outrun
Panzer Dragoon Orta
Pro Evolution Soccer 4
Project Gotham Racing
Psychonaughts
Rainbow Six
Splinter Cell / Pandora Tomorrow / Chaos Theory
Timesplitters 3: Future Perfect

These are the ones worth consideration imo. You would err on the side of caution for wildcards that polarise opinion like Killer 7 for example. You mightn't be interested in some of the genres involved either. And where I've put Beyond Good & Evil and the Monkey Ball games for Gamecube, you may not wish to get them on that platform as I have... Monkey Ball DX is out on Xbox encompassing both games and a few extra levels.

I've probably forgotten some must haves too. Congrats on the great deal -- it's great to see when someone owns all three, because you know the awesome choices afforded to them. You're ready for literally any game already out or scheduled now.

Is your Xbox chip free? Did your friend use it to sign up with XBL?

Really? KotR as single player. Hmm, I might have to check that out afterall then.

Can you still play FSA with 3 people without the link stuff though? Just the Cube and 4 controllers? Is it still fun?

I'd love subtitles for Shenmue II but will settle for the X-Box release.

You can only play multiplayer through connectivity. It's pretty much the only game to make good use of the feature. Singleplayer mode doesn't require it.

In single player the cube emulates the gameboy advance screen on your TV. It wouldn't be able to do this in 3/4 player without causing one hell of a mess. It's quite fun in single player, and considering the 2d style and some use of the Link to the Past tileset, it still looks beautiful. The multiplayer is gold though. If you can get any multiple of (ie. 2 or more) GBAs together you'll have a good time with it.

Maybe you should hold off and get it when PSP and DS force GBA prices right down.

GC/Xbox is best gaming combo this gen I reckon.

especially if its a modded xbox. Media centre rocks. get it modded stat.

Wow, how could I forget RE4?

At the very least RENT IT NOW. Get a feel for it. Maybe even beat it. From there you can see if you want to wait for the PS2 version or not. It really is excellent.

Also, if you like Metroid Prime, get Riddick. In my opinion, it was a much better game. Incredibly well done (both were... but I just found Riddick to be much more fun).

Well I think he should definately try both. They're so different though so I don't know if I would have compared them.

I love the stealthy skills and fist fighting in Riddick. The camera work is so nautiously realistic you almost feel your punches land, or the necks of your victims snap. As for the rest? The production is high, the graphics are insanely good, they put Xbox's other high profile FPS games to shame, the whole package beats out the film by a million miles imo. I missed something in the caves... I got incredibly frustrated with the game because of it, but after that it's sweet.

Metroid Prime is just incredible. Radically different locales intertwined with different paths to and from each making one huge cohesive world... oh and no noticable loading. The loading is there, it's just really well hidden and managed. Great exploratory gameplay, great bosses, and a great overall package. One of my friends (who posts here actually) borrowed the game from me and didn't like it initially and tried to return it to me. I told him to take it back home and play it until he liked it. I was that confident he would given the right circumstances... and I was right. It may well be the best thing from Nintendo this gen.
