I just did this (shipped my computer cross country). Everything works perfectly.
Didn't even bother to remove any components from within the case, even though I probably should have.
If you're paranoid about it, I'd focus on more on the insurance than the packaging.
Did you at least remove the video card? That's the one thing you definitely should remove usually
Question. How do PC OEMs do it? I've never seen them ask customers to rebuild their PCs on the other end.
And saying that, if your customers are having to put the PC together on the other end, why even go to you to get one built....they can just do it themselves...

Most of my PC case were sold in a box with brackets, I kept those, it's handy to move the PC safely...They either have brackets that hold everything in place
