I recall someone saying oct 22 is the start of the film event during which kutaragi will give the speach. Has any of this been confirmed? Anyone know what we can expect?

No idea, but I want to see some gameplay and a bunch of new games for it. I'm tired of waiting. Open the can of worms Sony. It'd be a perfect time to do so (right before the 360 launch).

And then there is the Tokyo International Digital Conference on Oct. 27...this is the one King Kenny Kutaragi will be giving a keynote address at(10:35a-11:15a):

I am hoping for some RSX details at TIDC....the timing would be right for this one, I would think.....RSX design was finalized last month..... (dev kits with the chips won't arrive until December, though)

I don't know if you've got your C&Ping confused, but that link is the Akihabara event, which is primarily a PSP event, with some PS3 trailers playing somewhere. It's expected to be the same stuff that was shown at TGS.

The Film Festival stuff was just the same as TGS.

Kutaragi's presentation is in the morning tomorrow, local time (aka later tonight for some). It sounds like a fairly high level talk though, so not sure how much new detail we should expect.

It's 10.35am to 11.15am local time. It's currently 4.45am there, so I guess you can figure out from that what time it'll be where you are (it's in just short of 6 hours). It was posted about in this thread:
