So what are my options here? (Transaction dispute)

We stayed at a hotel in Bismarck last night. The room was only supposed to be 108 u.s. dollars. Today I check my credit cards online and not only did they charge BOTH my visa and my MasterCard, but they charged my MasterCard 430 u.s. dollars! To top it all off the hotel doesn't have a record my MC being used! I used the visa to book originally but paid (or so I thought) with the MC at the desk! I called my MC bank and they say I gotta wait four business days until I can dispute because the transaction is still pending. Im on vacation and need that money. I'm afraid this 108 u.s. Dollar hotel room will cost me 730 canadian between two cards!

Are you sure it's not just a hold that they placed on your card, in case of damages and such? What are the hotel people saying?

Hotels always put deposit holds on the card presented at the desk at check-in (mini bar, room service, damage) etc.

Were you paying with both of those cards?

Anyway you need to wait till the credit card company gets back to you. I'd suggest not using those cards anymore until this gets resolved.

Like the others have said, did you give them that card when you checked in? If so it is just a hold in case you trash the room. It will go away assuming you don't throw a party and destroy the room.

But as said in the OP, they have no record of it. And I was told the deposit was suppose to be only 130.

But it's a credit card. What do you mean you need that money?
Yeah like if $430 on a credit card is do or die for you on vacation, maybe you should have saved a bit more. (I know it's coming off judgemental but I always post more when I've had a few)

But like others have said it is likely just a hold for damages. And you can't do anything until it actually goes through anyway.

A pending charge is not a real charge.

You can't dispute something that hasn't posted and cleared.

Like others have said, it's probably a hold and will drop off.
