So what are the DS "system sellers" released thus far??

I'm not much for portable gaming, but I must say that seeing the new Sonic Rush media has me itching for a DS now, and given that its already a sales hit (I too was a skeptic on the system upon its introduction) and has plenty of support lined up, I'm curious as to what the better games are that are currently available?

Is there a killer app yet as far as functionality...ie that makes the touchscreen function a uniquely indisposable part of the gameplay and not a gimmick? Reading about the Mario 64 and the whole thumbstick control put me off, and the idea of playing action oriented games with a stylus while holding the entire system in my off hand seems a little daunting. Is there yet a game or two that completely erases those apprehensions and sells you on the functionality of the unit?

MUST HAVES imo are kirby and meteos (from what ive played)

must haves from what ive HEARD about are another code and nintendogs (well, i guess that wouldnt be MUST HAVE for a lot of others but eh)

and good timewasters are warioware touched and yoshi touch and go

Yoshi Touch 'n' Go is Awesome if you can get it cheap. I've loved playing it and constantly try and beat my own score in Marathon and Challenge.

If you have friends, Puyo Pop Fever. Just turn the volume down.

Super Mario 64 is still awesome, and the minigames are quite addictive.

Wario Ware is pretty fun, the Mega mixes are the best way to play it.

The only dissapointment I've had is Feel the Magic, and I'm a big Sonic Team fanboy :\

Still need to get Kirby.

Metroid Prime Hunters actually controls beautifully, and if it had online, I would be completely sold on it.

Other than that, Konami's Castlevania and lost in Blue both look like they could be incredible. Lost in Blue in particular has me interested.

Ned, we just picked up an Electric Blue yesterday. The free Mario (which I THINK the sign said only lasted through the 21st, or something like that) and Kirby (which is freaking awesome) sealed the deal. There's not a whole lot else right now, aside from possibly Wario and Yoshi, but I haven't played those. But Meteos is out around the end of the month, that's definetely a buy.

kirby for touchscreen killer app.

Bomberman coming up to showcase just how good wireless 8 player gaming can be

and all your favourite GBA games in glorious super technicolour.

My personal favorite DS games so far would be Kirby, Yoshi, Meteos, Bomberman (multiplayer), Zoo Keeper and Brain Training. I would recommend renting Feel the Magic, Pac-Pix, Mario 64, Wario Ware and Polarium. Band Bros. looks great too but it's a little Japanese intensive, so you might want to wait for a US release. Nintendogs is very good too, but it requires a lot of time and effort.

I'm very curious about SD Gundam G-Generation DS, Devilish, Naruto 3 and Goemon.

In the next couple months, I'm planning to buy Famicom Wars, Pac 'n Roll, Survival Kids and Castlevania.

Right now, software-wise, DS >>>>>>>>>>>> PSP

The US hardly has any killer apps (only Kirby). Japan on the other hand...
And Australia has LESS! It f*cking sucks over here at the moment, handheld-wise. DS games are all pretty poor, the PSP still hasn't been released (coming soon) although some friends of mine imported them.
Its not like its a consistent thing across the board either, there have been plenty of Xbox and PC games that have had simultaneous releases here with the USA....

Australia=Europe (in gaming), but I suggest to import games (from USA). I wish next-gen wouldn't have regional lock

Zensetsu, seriously, go to www.dvdboxoffice.com and buy games through there like I do. You may have to wait a few weeks to get it, but you will be saving between $20 and $30 per purchase. Seriosuly, most games end up being $43AU.

I played Pac Pix the other day and have to say it was quite fun. But I can't see the game lasting al that long, just constantly drawing Pac Mans.

I would say Wario Ware and Kirby are the best games out right now, although I haven't played Meteos.

Is Meteos out in the US?

Nintendo Australia: We've got the best plans ever! We'll release Kirby in September and pretend Meteos doesn't even exist. Also, despite Europe getting Another Code this month, we'll release that in August. But we'll release Ridge Racer DS this month! Hey why are we bankrupt?

Oh well, at least UbiSoft's releasing Bomberman DS this month at a budget price.

to all australians, you can have kirby about 5-7 days after america.

videogamesplus.ca

done it 2 times now to NZ and it got here safe and quick ~5 working days from order 15 bucks cheaper.

i just got a blue and free mario 64

the mini games are great so far. too bad you have to unlock them, wish they all came open already. i'd just play those.

Pac pix has become addictive for me. it's quick and you can pick it up and put it down at any time. great for on the go gaming fixes.

Kirby is fun too ( i have yet to find an unlockable glowing green line option though)

Feel the magic blows ass, i was done and over the whole thing in a couple hours.
feels like a very repetitive mess. save your cash on that one.

Kirby is the only 'system seller' out right now in the states, but Meteos is out in 2 weeks.

Good times ahead.
