Since Nintendo has pretty much been outsold by everything with a Bar Code printed on it, and failing in every venture they set out to dominate (if not at least screw it up - GC, DS), what else would be in store for the company we love so dearly?

I was thinking that the next time around, they could incorporate a new feature called "game play". This wouldn't require a hardware upgrade or dual screens, in fact they can re-introduce the old N64 console to make this happen. That way they can continue to not give a damn about graphics and spend more time on making something fun to play. A first for Nintendo since Super Mario 3. It's pretty disheartning that the most fun you'd ever find in a game like Pikmin 2 is packing it right up and trading it in for store credit at EB.

The question that brings me to the point is, why doesn't Nintendo see that they are, for the lack of a better word, obsolete? They are no longer wanted or welcomed in this industry. Who do they think they are?

Nintendo is far from obselete. Their console numbers have been low, but they still domintae the handheld market, and are within the top five for software sales pretyy much every month. It might me hard for you to fathom, but a lot of people enjoy their games, and continue to buy them.

They dominate the handheld market because it was a shit market until the PSP was released. In fact today marks the day that the handheld market has been taken seriously by the people that matter, none of which are you.

Not to sound like a troll, but aren't you a little harsh on Nintendo? I mean, they have great games like Zelda: TWW (which is a lot better imo than most people say it is), Pikmin, Metroid Prime, Super Smash Bros Melee, Mario Party and hate to say it, since everyone usually does, the upcoming Zelda game. I played the DS, and sure, not many games make excellent use of the touch-screen, but then again, not many games made excellent use of the PS2's true capabilities.

Now I own all main systems, PS2, GC and Xbox and after the PS2, my GC still gets the most lovin. That is, after I get my new gaming-rig and start blasting people with Half-Life 2, Doom 3 and UT2K4.

On my account, they aren't obsolete at all, and you can say one thing about Nintendo, they keep making games that are fun AND playable. Unlike some company with the initials EA which mostly comes up with rehashes of last years games with a slight improvement. Who cares that Nintendo is being outsold (as far as I know only the GC and the N64 got outsold, the GBA and DS are doing a great job saleswise), at least they DO have nerves (at times) to come up with completely new ideas, like Pikmin for example.

I can't tell you what they're thinking but I know what they're looking at. It's the millions of dollars sitting in their bank account from profit earned from their business. I can kind of understand what you're saying but I'd wait until actual troubles (hardtimes) were more evident before posting anything even remotely similar to your initial post.

Its true that Nintendo hasn't seen much competition in the handheld market, and while their domination may be over, I still think they'll end up in power. Handhelds are primarily bought by young children, and the DS will continue to appeal to that audience, as well as Nintendo fans.

Those are the reasons why the Gamecube is flopping harder than donkey dick. You are just another Prime (no pun intended) example as to what Nintardism is all about. You convince your self and others like you that the Nintendo games you buy was worth the price you paid for, even after you have been utterly dissapointed by the lackluster mess Nintendo released. It's a disease that Sony and Microsoft are curing, I am glad to say.
