So what's going to be Blizzard's next game?

I have it on good authority that Diablo III is the next release for Blizzard.

They will begin the initial design of SC2 after SC:Ghost is released. Also, Swingin' Ape Studios (Metal Arms owns you) will have more Blizzard Universe titles for consoles.

With all the development turmoil for Starcraft: Ghost I hope it can emerge relatively unscathed. I have faith in Swinging Ape Studios to get many things right, but if the game has too many problems they may not be able to fix them all. Cool to hear Swinging Ape is going to make more console titles with Blizzard properties. Metal Arms does indeed rock, and if they need Blizzard licenses to garner huge sales along with critical acclaim I'm all for it!

I'm still pretty amped for Starcraft: Ghost. It can help ease the wait for Starcraft 2.

Something I was thinking about recently. If Swingin' Ape does really well for Blizzard, maybe they'll buy them. They did this with Blizzard North, who used to be Condor, working on Diablo.

This would be good news for sure. Anything, as long as I get Metal Arms 2 some day. :)

Having just beaten Metal Arms (hot damn, under-rated game, that) I have renewed faith/interest in SC:Ghost. Go Swingin' Ape!

Metal Arms: Glitch in the System, not Riddick.

I pray they leave their old stuff behind and come up with something new, original and interesting, something they haven't done since the original Diablo. Blizzard seriously is the most overrated gaming company. Their constant rehashing is praised by fans, just because it's "quality" rehashing. Well, keep buying those stupid games, and they'll keep making sequels, and you'll keep asking for them, as all stupid Blizzard fanboys do. Wake up!

*runs*

A rehash would imply a port. Qualify the statement. What exactly have they rehashed? Don't imply a sequel is a rehash because you are off base. It would be a different story if we got new games in these series every year. But we don't. It is YEARS between sequels.

Well...I have to say, Blizzard is one of the few Western developers who knows how to make an awesome presentation in their games. They know how to add "flash" to their "substance". Everything just blends together so well. Whether it's menus, character portraits, voice acting, story presentation, pre-rendered cutscenes - all these features are usually very polished and high-quality. It's a part of what makes Blizzard games something special IMO.

Exactly. And they don't waste their talents on too much extra crap either. World of Warcraft is a perfect example. I remember with FFXI it took minutes to get into playonline and then boot up FFXI and finally get into a server. With WoW I can launch the game and be playing on the server in 30 seconds.
