So, who else got STEAMROLLED by the flu?

It's that time of year again when the weather changes like crazy and people in your workplace are dropping like flies......
I got floored this week with this shit, no sick time so i have to tough it out.

Can't keep food down, so liquid diet
Both eyes look freaky due to bursting blood vessels from tossing cookies. I need to take a pic of this!)
Cold, clammy and tired/sore all over....
To top shit off, my damn 360 seems like it's going to die, so even if I do stay home I'm gonna be bored....

I didn't catch the flu, but I got the common cold. Twice right one after another! The doc told me that it could be infectious mononucleosis, but, thank God, it wasn't. Tomorrow I'm going to get my vaccination against the flu.

I had a company-mandatory flu shot a couple of weeks ago.

My arm was sore for a day or two, does that count?

I felt it coming on Saturday night, couldn't sleep at all, felt miserable all Sunday but it's since abated to something manageable. This time last year it did exactly the same thing, then hit me with a vengeance a few days afterwards. Like, serious flu. I lost a day or so of my memory.

I think I've caught some variation of a cold and/or flu for the past 3 weeks, it's been brutal. Typical office style, keeps getting passed around. And flu shots are going out this week, so I don't think I can get one. Despite the fact that my immune system sucks.

I've had a sore throat and inflammation in my glands for several days. It's just a matter of time until it turns into something bad.

Got a terrible sinus infection last night, still have it today... the only cure is more hopium.

I had a pretty nasty cold a month or so ago, caught it before the weather even changed too drastically. It was a pretty common head cold but it was pretty intense sometimes.

I don't get how people get the flu so often. I'm 20 and I've only had it once in my life about 12 years ago. I don't get flu shots either. Is it something thats mostly passed in an office environment? I go to college, you'd figure it'd make the rounds there. Hell every one else in my house as gotten it this year now that I think about it.

There's a ton of different factors.
Where you live
Where you work.
What kind of weather patterns (Rapid cold to warm and vice versa will play hell with your immune system)
It's airborne so it's easy to catch etc, etc

I hate being sick. Luckily I only get sick about once a year and it's never that bad.

My mom never gets sick. It's crazy.

I got leveled and haven't gotten up since. Fuck this shit.

I threw up like 5 times last night. Shit is not fun. I thought it was just my allergies, how wrong I was!

Same here. i thought it was just my sinuses/allergies, until I couldn't keep my dinner down.... then the body aches came...

I received a flu shot on saturday, heard it takes like 2 weeks or so to make you immune to it .... crossing my fingers currently.

I was ill last week, but only stayed at home on Monday and Tuesday since my boss was on holiday and I'm his stand in. The worst part for me was Monday when every time I swallowed it felt like I was swallowing a razor blade.

I thought I was getting the flu last week, but it ended up being fucking pneumonia. Horrible week and a half, but it seems to be cleared up now.

Everyone and their mother was sick around here a week and a half ago including myself who never ever gets sick. It came with a nasty cough that I still haven't been able to get rid of completely.

Dude.

FUCKING YESTERDAY.

I went to bed feeling perfectly fine on Sunday night.

Woke up Monday feeling like death. Achy as fuck, sore throat. Got through work, but it was worse this morning, so I called out sick.

Still got out and voted, though I almost puked inside the voting booth.

I'm awesome, i don't get the flu or colds.

damn clean ass kids these days. I used to eat dirt.....and LOVE IT. MADE ME STRONG

MAX POWER.

Do you guys all live in a plastic bubble when you go home or something? I don't understand how so many people are susceptible to the flu.

I haven't gotten it since I was 10 and I don't get flu shots either. That's for the weak!

People in my office have been sniffing and hacking up a lung for months. Lick a public doorknob. It'll make you stronger.

no flu, but a bad cold. Feeling generally shitty isn't bad, but stuffy noses are the worst.

Scratch that. Stuffy nose on one nostril, runny nose on t'other is the worst.

I'm pretty lucky - got a cold earlier, but that rolled over pretty quickly; closest thing I've gotten to the flu. And if I ever do get stricken by it, I have my DS, which allows me to just lie back in bed and play.

I haven't gotten the flu at all. I just got a mild cold last week. It sucks when the mucus is by your tonsils and can't seem to spit it out.

Im just wondering when it all be gone.

I work at a High School with a bunch of idiots. Its almost impossible to not get sick during winter. Its better then working at an elementary school though, those little bastards gave me pink eye.

I started feeling under the weather yesterday. I'm a bit stuffed up today and my throat's a little sore, but I think I've got it under control. I hope so, anyway, since I've got a trip to Orlando planned for this weekend.
