Impressions after 1 game in Dynasty:
+ I tried Load & Fire, but I was either way too early or way too late, so I'm on Classic, which feels great. I'm also using the Classic throwing option.
+ First game was a 3-1 win for me (USC vs. USF), and I had 13 hits and 3 errors. It feels pretty easy to hit, but I think its because the CPU pitcher is modeling a college player and not a pro like in 05. The patterns are easier to pick up.
+ PING is great. I hit a 476 ft home run with my only real power hitter. I sat on a high and tight pitch and drilled it over the right field fence.
+ Animations are great, very fluid and realistic.
+ Mike Patrick is a great announcer and really adds to the feel
+ Pitching is harder, but for the better. The pitcher has less pin-point precision and the actual on-screen pitching zone is smaller, making it harder to hit your spots.
+ Pause menu is improved. It's a small thing, but its nice to have everything on one screen.
edit: the lag on the Classic throwing mentioned above is there. In 05, you could hold the O button while the fielder was still in the animation of catching the ball and then the throw meter would pop up immediately. In 06, sometimes this happens, but not every time. Sometimes you have to wait until after the animation is done before you press O. Its a little annoying now, but it will require only a minor adjustment.
Overall, it is great fun and I'm happy to have a new MVP. MVP is my annual sports purchase (like Madden is for some) and at $30, I'm happy to support the dev team. I'm not happy with the different exclusive licenses, but if the MLB license hadn't been snatched up, we would have never gotten an NCAA game.
