Socom 3 Info

Socom 3 supports 32 players online (according to OPM).

:D

I just hope it doesn't get too laggy but I read some where the maps adjust in size according to the number of players.

I decided to play earlier and got in a game on sandstorm. I was doing pretty good considering I havent played in a while. I had like 48 points and we were up 5-1 and about to win the last game. MVP here I come............and then I get dropped.

Great video! Although, the guys playing the game were complaining about lag and they were certainly on a LAN. Not good. I'd be happy with only 16, 20, or even 24 players. Is 32 really necessary if lag is an issue? I'm sure we'll see a lot of rooms with game setup for fewer players.

Damn, I didn't realize it was so late already. I will be online around 10 PM EST, Daylight savings messed me up, lol.

I am in Central 4 game name is TEX if anyone is around to join. I will continue to check GAF when I am dead to see if anyone is trying to get in. By the way, the GAF clan has been broken up, I guess because of lack of play. I am the new Leader and know one is on the Clan but me since I played about a month ago.

I can't find my headset... and your TEX game is full.

Going to spectate. :p

Invite me back to the clan.

There's one thing that bothers me in the OPM interview. When on the topic of 32p online, they said that they did a "good job" with 16 players on Socom II. No, they didn't. The netcode in that game was horrific. Now you have 32 players, vehicles, etc...Kinda worries me.

That was not my experience with Socom 2 online. Playing on the Vigilance map with rocket launchers was choppy, but 16 player games were fine most of the time.

I kind of agree with this statement, I think the frame rate was a bigger problem then lag.

I dunno...there were many a game where there were late shots, teleporting, and shooting a guy in the head 20 times without killing him. And yes, I know how to aim. I know some noobs would complain about that when you can clearly see that they just sucked, but it was a real problem.
