Jade 2: Though Jade Empire isn't even completed yet, numerous members of the Jade team suggested they would love to do a sequel. In fact, Greg, Ray, Producer Jim Bishop and Art Director Matt Goldman each suggested that Jade 2, while not officially announced, was pretty much a certainty. During multiple interviews, each was asked if certain elements were in Jade Empire. The response was often the same, "No, but that's something we definitely would want in the sequel... which hasn't been announced yet." This news coupled with a visit to the casino inside the West Edmonton Mall, made for one hell of a nice trip.

FPS RPG: In September, BioWare announced it had licensed Epic's Unreal 3 engine for use in its next RPG. At that time, everyone began speculating about the possibility of a first-person shooter RPG from one of the most respected developers in North America. During a briefing before the Jade Empire demo, BioWare fueled the flames of that speculation. When asked if BioWare would ever consider making a first-person shooter RPG, the response was, "It's inevitable." BioWare also noted the game was in development for PC and an unspecified next-gen console. While there's no guarantee BioWare's first next-gen RPG will be for Xbox 2, we'd say it's a solid bet.

FPS rpg?

Well i guess thats cool, id hoped it was Jade 2 or KOTOR3 though :-/

Maybe not FPS. Look at Anachronox for PC, which was (more or less) a console-style RPG for PC that was built around a heavily-modified Q2 engine. I think this might turn out to be the same type of thing.

I always thought a FPS MMORPG would be a cool idea although I'm sure there are all kinds of technical limitations that would make it difficult.

I don't think there's any technical problems (hell you could change the any of the third person MMORPGs to first person by tweaking the camera and prespective), it's a problem with figuring out fu gameplay for such an animal.

Was that the game that had all the David Bowie music?

Jedimike :-

Nah, that was Omikron : The Nomad Soul I think...

Anachronox was quite an enjoyable rpg that was one of the few PC games released at that time would have been a better fit to a console IMO. It followed Sly Boots, Stiletto and others on a galaxy spanning storyline...

Holy shit, a game that plays like Deus Ex but set in the Planescape Torment universe would hit the spot.

My sources say otherwise.

My source is a tiny ball of self-imposed denile that's resting deep inside my heart. :(

Next Gen first person shooter RPG + Unreal 3 license + PC version + XNA = Xbox Next is the console platform! :D

Jade Empire is going to be awesome. I can't wait.

P.S. Anachronox is the shit!

not enough battles? the combat system was complete and total ass! I actually woulda preferred it if they'd cut the combat out and made it a sweet adventure game because MAN that combat was horrendous.
