The first look at Shadow in Sonic the Hedgehog 3 has been released, and we can't stop thinking about his shoes. The upcoming movie, due out in late 2024, is a sequel to both previous films and the soon-to-be-released Knuckles TV show.

Usually Shadow spoils and makes things cringe with his dumb overseriousness(Sonic Boom being a prime example). But I have faith in the writers, as the 2 Sonic movies where cool.

If they can tone down shit sub plots like the whole wedding section that damn near ruins watchability of the second movie they will be good.

This is going to be tough because you’ve just described Movie Knuckles. I’m not sure if making an even more overly serious version of Movie Knuckles but as a different character will work. Maybe they will slightly change Shadow’s personality?

First two were good and I'll definitely watch this too.

Sucks that Jim Carrey likely won't be in it due to all but being retired. Always was and always will be my favourite actor and he was amazing as Dr. Robotnik.

I take it were adapting Adventure 2 here? Wonder if theyre gonna bother with Rogue yet or just write her out. Feels like it wouldn't be that big of a challenge.

Just watched this with my kids at the cinema today, I thought it was brilliant. Don’t get me wrong it’s a funny action flick aimed at kids, but as far as those go I think it was fantastic. Much better than the Mario movie and most other kids films to be honest. How SEGA have got these movies so right is a mystery to me but fair play.

It helps they already had a solid foundation for the story and characters. Aside from the RPGs, Mario’s cast has never been that strong in characterization in any media, whether games or other media, prior to the 2023 movie, whereas once Sonic entered the 3D era the games gave very clear personalities and such to the cast, and this was expanded upon with the comics, first by the Archie Comics era and now the IDW Comics era, and the multiple cartoon series that have been made.

While the movies do give some original elements to the characters (Sonic being a bit younger and sees Tom and Maddie as essentially his parents, Knuckles being the least used to the human world, etc.) as well as being primarily set on Earth, you can tell they looked to what worked with the stories of all that past media and figured out how to translate that to the film versions. I think it’s why the IP has endured for all this time, even in the rough era of games from the mid-2000’s up until now where they’re getting back on track with Mania and Frontiers, fans loved the characters, and wanted to keep following them in the games and various media all this time.

I'm actually happy whoever was in charge of those movies kept the momentum. The moment I saw Shadow I though it would be a stupid SA2 dick sucking dedication film, but thank god its not edgy retarded like that game. Whoever are still making these good Sonic movies clearly is not being paid enough, its gonna keep doing some positive vibe to Sonic franchise image.

And Jim Carey is so bloody funny in it, without him I think these movies would be missing a massive piece. The man is a brilliant Robotnik.
Yeah saw it a couple of days ago. He doesn’t miss a beat.
I wonder if he’ll be back for the 4th. I’d watch a 4th if he wasn’t but I can’t see if having the same feel.

Came back from Cinema, not bad, surprised this movie had deaths, but i wanted Black Doom to be the villain.

Act 1 and 2 are okayish kid stuff, Act 3 is straight down amazing

Excuse Me What GIF by Bounce

I love Dr. Doom, but it would be a bit random to have him be the villain of a Sonic movie!

(just kidding, I know you meant this guy)
