Sonic Rush - Dimps of Sonic Team?

just wanted to clear this up. so yeah, anyone have any idea who's making it?

oh, and while we're at it, did Sonic Team take over after the first advance game, or did Dimps make them all?

anyways, Sonic Rush kicks ass. best sonic game i've played since sonic 2.

Dimps did the Advance games. St is doing this one directly. This is their first directly developed 2D sonic since Pocket Adventure (before that was S3&K for clarification)

Dimps developed Sonic Pocket Adventure; Sonic Team produced it.

This is the first wholly Sonic Team developed 2D Sonic game in almost a decade, and boy does it show!!!

Sonic fans, buy them DS's!

I thought Sonic Team did a lot of work on Sonic Advance 2 (which admittingly was a lot better than 1 and 3, in my opinion).

Sonic Rush looks great, and I'm glad they're just focusing on two player characters. (The multiplayer racing is only Sonic and Blaze, so says the website, the Chao Racing is for 4 Players, though.) That means they can receive a lot of customization and detail work. Sonic's new Rush move and trick ability both look like great additions. I wonder if that's how Blaze will play, or if she'll have her own unique capabilities.

I'm almost positive Dimps did Sonic Pocket Adventure.

Anyway, I'm really psyched for this. When I first looked at screens I didn't know what to think, but now this is one of my most anticipated DS titles. Looks like one of the few games that will actually have some practical benefit by having two screens.

I think it's vastly over-rated. It's merely a novelty to have the action spread out between two screens, and it's actually pretty disorienting when he bounces from one screen to another. Also, the boss battle I played took place only one one screen (wtf?) and had crappy 3D.

Are you aware this game is for the Nintendo DS? And actually i thought the boss battle looked just fine.

Seems to be some confusion on who developed what for handheld Sonics...

DIMPS
-Sonic The Hedgehog: Pocket Adventure (NGPC) 1999
-Sonic Advance (GBA) 2001
-Sonic Advance 3 (GBA) 2004

Sonic Team
-Sonic Advance 2 (GBA) 2002
-Sonic Pinball Party (GBA) 2003
-Sonic N (NGE) 2003
-Sonic Battle (GBA) 2003
-Sonic Rush (NDS) 2005

Except Sonic Team is still missing certain key members from the teams behind Sonic 1 & 2.

Sonic Advance 2 was still developed by Dimps, only "under the supervision of Sonic Team."

Really? I'd heard it was done entirely by Sonic Team and DIMPS is simply credited for sprite reuse?

Hey Lady K, the following developers are wrong...

Sonic Team -
2. Sonic Advance 2 (GBA)

-developed by Dimps under Sonic Team's management.
http://66.102.7.104/search?q=cache:...advance+2"+"sonic+team"+developed+dimps&hl=en

But seriously, most references on the web list it as a collaboration with Sonic Team at best, with Dimps in the hands-on role.
