What they lack is a messenger version of this phone. Once they have one, it will outsell everything on the market. A good competent messenger phone is what the market is still missing.

That's a nice phone, and finally something I feel like it looks better than my old T610. It will probably cost shitload of money. Seems too thick though, and I'm not too hot on these swivel, slide and flip open mechanisms.

I might wait for this now after i got to play around with the Nokia N70 and found out it has the loudest 'clicky' keypad i have ever heard, so annoying because that was the perfect phone for my needs otherwise.

I'm impressed. mp3/phone/cam

I am always of the opinion that it is better to buy everything seperately. Also, I talk a lot of my cell phone (that being its primary purpose) and I don't want to waste my battery life on taking pics on a crappy digital camera or a average mp3 player.

Then again, if someone could make a phone with an amazing digital camera and a mp3 player that works as well as my Ipod AND with enough battery life to do all of these things for the entire day I might change my tune.

The MP3 player on the SE phones is above average, certainly more than adequate for most folks. On the camera I'd agree - still need to get those up to 3mp and then they will be good enough.

On the battery life, if you're willing to carry around three devices, you should be more than willing to carry around a spare battery :)

Well I normally don't carry my camera around. Because I always have my phone it is nice to have a shitty cam phone just in case I want a pic of something, but usually the quality leaves something to be desired both on my phone and from the pics I have seen from other phones with cameras in them.

I don't think they are going to have a phone with a 20 gig harddrive and Itunes with any sort of usable battery life anytime soon so that is also a bust.

I actually do wish I had gotten a PDAphone with Windows Mobile on it now though. I went with a Nokia phone because I just like how they make their phones and they are very user friendly and reliable in my long experence with them. But, when I use my Axim x50v for GPS in my car I kind of wish I only had one gadget to carry around instead of two.

Watch Sony/Err make us use that bullshit software to transfer music.

Needs a flip phone version. I have a T616 and can't wait to get rid of it.

Why? This slideout thing is like a flip anyways. It adds an extra step whenever you want to dial numbers :\ But at least you can answer without opening it.

Its kinda big for what it does. But still a nice addition to the 3G library and the high end of their walkman series. Samsung have some awesome phones out soon too including one with a HD. :D

Consider one of the Nokia Nseries phones or one of the other symbian phones. Nokia's series 60 platform is the main reasons PDA are dying and they are killing Windows, palm etc. in the phone market.

Maybe it's an 'across the pond' thing, but people here in the US (that I've talked to on the subject) prefer flip phones... That's what's sold mostly. Check the numbers.

Stores will have like 20 phones on display. 75% of which are of the flip variety. I have big hands and a long face. These cutesy phones are a chore to hold.

They are big everywhere. But i think sliders like the D500 will be popular too. Swivel is very annoying for one handed use.

Nokia isn't doing a whole lot here in the states. Only old people have them. 'Least it seems that way.

I'd love to see Nokia's earning reports. I never understood how they did so well financially, but then remembered that they're big in places other than the US.

I was going to get a Razr yesterday in fact, more out of boredom than anything (it was a crime to design a phone like that, charge over $500 and not give it expandable storage when the thing supports mp3s and has a video recorder). I held fast. I just couldn't justify it. And I know there are a slew of new phones on their way...

All I want:

Flip Phone
Big Ass Screen
Video recorder/Camera (VGA)
Expandable storage
Bluetooth
mp4 support...

Think that's it.

Alot of the US phones are perceived as uncool here in Europe. On tv in the UK they will never show a phone with an antenna.

Yes they arent that big in the US. The phone markets do vary alot in different continents.

Japanese phones dont sell well anywhere else for example despite some great features. Probably because they are massive(loaded with features) compared to a standard euro phone.

The Sharp 903 for example has a 3 megapixel camera(by far the best quality picture of any phone) with proper 2x zoom and didnt sell much in the UK. It exceeded expectations however. Yet many more people brought the basic small 3G phone from Samsung. Matter of taste. O2 are tring to promote i-mode here in the UK but the handsets arent interesting.

Looks annoying. I would have preffered a slider. It has the look too.

I have the Samsung D415 and it's definitely a phone that gets a TON of attention. Great phone and great screen.

Its quite out of date :P

But thats typical for phones nowadays. I remember when my 6630 was cutting edge. Brought it only this January. Now they've got a WiFi, HD model already coming with Microsoft support and stuff. :lol Its like buying a pc.

Hey, I have a Nokia! And except for the big ass screen and flip my Nokia pretty much can match all of those features you listed. Bluetooth is the the thing I use the most out of those features personally. It just makes using your phone in the car so much more enjoyable.

Everything goes out of date so quickly you can't be worried about it. Hell, my 6230 seems like an antique now (had it for just over a year) but that is just how the cell phone market is. And I swear phones come to the US last usually and we don't get most of the models either.

Yeah just buy the phone you want. Dont wait around too much. You could waiting forever for the next best thing.

I like it. Something I was waiting for.

Two gripes:

1: it's a bit bigger than my preference.
2: no cover for the camera lens (gets dirty in you pocket)

I know. It's over a year old now. But I had the option of picking up a 500, but took the 415 instead for the screen and button size.
