Someone's never heard of Schlongs of Skyrim. That which can be modded shall never die.

This could actually be really awesome as Sony already owns Funimation. Combining Crunchyroll's catalog with that of Funimation under one service would be huge. These are the two behemoths in the anime world and that would basically cover most anime licensed for streaming per season under one service.

I dont watch any Anime stuff so I never used CrunchyRoll but I have heard my daughter mention it. Is it just a streaming service or do they own the IP's they stream and could those Ip's be utilized for new games?.

It would be cool, that's all. Maybe they are bulding something bigger to bring to Plus. :O
Sony are still way too disconnected to put these things together

If they were smart with this sort of thing they'd have allocated their Anime IPs from Aniplex to their gaming divisions.

Nevermind the movie IPs they could have leveraged over the years

they did do this a year or two back in an attempt to keep Netflix and Amazon from driving up the prices of new shows. Sadly Funimation pulled out when they were bought buy Sony.

it was nice have only 1 extra sub for a while there.

Yeah I actually remembered that. It was so nice to have Funi's entire catalog on CR but then they just suddenly pulled out. Hopefully they go back to it if CR is bought. More value for us CR users haha.

At least here in Spain it's by far the main source of classic anime, and can be watched for free with ads. They have a huge catalog, makes sense.

This one has been in the news for a little while but doesn’t have anything to do with PlayStation. Sony is a big company that does more than PlayStation after all..

Also, I’m not sure consolidating more power with Funimation/Crunchyroll will be great for anime fans. Less competition in the market surely isn’t a good thing-these are essentially the only streaming services for anime. There is also some friction there with Western political values and their influence on Japanese media. I’m admittedly out of the loop here so not sure to what end, if any, that connects with Funimation/Crunchyroll.

Hum... this wasn't a serious answer from me, don't read too much into it. I have no clue on how censorship affects anime. However, Sony do enforce censorship on video-games.
Got it-I thought you were suggesting that Crunchyroll and/or Funimation had censored anime in the past.

So that they can censor shit in other form of entertainment?
Fuck off, Sony.

Crunchyroll already have the censored versions of shows anyway. So it won't be Sony's fault if they start. HiDive has some decent stuff and is an uncensored service, but the selection is pretty limited.
