NeoGAFs Kent Brockman

Desperate to preserve humanity's future, Earth's last survivors have fled to a distant galaxy to rebuild civilization. Gather materials and construct a headquarters on land or an orbiting space station where experts can conduct business and research. Join or form factions along political, military, or economic lines to gain advantages and allies, then venture forth on missions to shape an everchanging player-driven economy.

I'll be honest. That description isn't selling it to me. The game sounds like actual work, but work I wouldn't get paid for.

Not for me.

The Universe is yours. Get a deep dive and behind-the-scenes look at SpaceCraft in this latest trailer for the upcoming space exploration and building game. Learn about the gameplay, ship mechanics and customization, objectives, exploration, gathering resources, automation, crafting, and more. SpaceCraft will be available on PC in Early Access in 2025.

In SpaceCraft, explore a vast galaxy of solar systems and planets, mine and craft resources, design and build ships, automate planetary bases and interplanetary logistics, trade and cooperate.

Take a look at the Demo Gameplay Trailer for SpaceCraft, a sci-fi open-world space adventure game developed by Shiro Games. Players will soar through the cosmos to explore solar systems, mine resources, and trade. SpaceCraft is coming soon to PC (Steam), with a demo available now on PC (Steam).

I get why the first trailer didn't do it any favors - it was pretty light on actual gameplay. The newer deep dive at least shows there's some structure there with automation, logistics, and faction dynamics.

It does sound like it's leaning more toward a sandbox economy sim than a cinematic space RPG, which probably isn't going to click with everyone. The big question for me is scale and polish - are we talking tight, focused systems or another overly ambitious "build the universe" project that never quite comes together?
