Spaceworld

I'm pretty sure Nintendo said it was better to have a bunch of small events all around Japan instead of one big Space World.

Well, if their next console is so weird that the E3 folk decide it shouldn't qualify as a "videogame" anymore, then we'd see a return of Spaceworld out of necessity.

But only then.

It's a lot of attention, but I think maybe the "joke's on them"ness of the last one (Celda unveiling) shamed them enough to discourage NCL from trying to put anything like that on by themselves.

Shoshinkai, and are you serious Johnny?

Nintendo kinda sorta just had a "Spaceworld," but it was that nationwide Touch! DS tour.

yeah, my source told me that it's definitely in the plans. it's gonna be the full blown Revolution party.

this dude is usually spot on for the most part, so i don't see why not. makes sense too considering that they're not gonna go ape shit with Revolution at E3.

and one last thing to take into consideration....

"And so again what I think you'll see following this year's E3 is much more communication, much more sharing of assets and other things to keep people pumped for what's coming down the pipe. So I'll look for feedback from you guys come about August if we've been able to deliver on that."

Reggie said that in an interview with 1-UP.

i mean, im not gonna guarentee anything here, but i'd say it's definitely a safe bet.

There is definitely some worry at Nintendo that the device will be too abstract for our minds to comprehend. Nintendo's next system will bring such unprecedented experiences as to smack god in the face for not creating it himself. It is indescribable in human tongue, so I will merely give you the first leaked pics of early Revolution designs and let you piece it together yourself.

It'll be back, if only for this one year.

I'm thinking August again, would be natural.

Its possible they might rename it to something else. Spaceworld used to be known as Shoshinkai.

Shoshinkai '95 -- N64 unveiling

Spaceworld 2000 -- GCN unveiling

Spaceworld 2005 -- Revolution full unveiling

If its later than August (say November, like Shoshinkai used to be), perhaps we could also see the unveiling of the Game Boy Next.

i don't see any new GameBoy announcements happening as soon as august. i'd imagine january. with a summer 06 launch at the earliest.

im sure Nintendo wants to give the Advance line a good 5 year life span.

Spaceworld would be, what, 3 months after E3? If nintendo has enough to show on spaceworld, then freakin' show it to us on E3 when the competition will be hammering Nintendo.

And if there's any 'revolutionary' idea they're afraid of the competition stealing it, the possibility wouldnÂ’t disappear if they wait until spaceworld.

I just hope this 'new' idea is not a click you get when pushing in the revolution controller triggers all the way in. ¬_¬

Wouldn't Microsoft technically be ramping up production of actual 360 units at that point? So it would count them out in some fashion. But let's not kid ourselves, that is not what this is (or ever is) about.

edit: horrendous grammar

Revolution at E3 will NOT be a "full" unveiling. I am told that Iwata and co are not particularly keen to show it at E3 as it is, though of course it will have to be at the conference in some way. So it defo makes sense to have a Spaceworld this year. And if there is, I am going. AND it wouldn't surprise me if GB2 turned up there either.

Well after Americans voting for Bush again, everybody would feel shame touching american soil.......

I know I do, and I LIVE in America.. so.. yeah.. uhh.. ~steps on the ground from chair~ ~feels shame~ Ugh, not again.. damn Bush! :lol

At this point, not many developers have been working on Revolution stuff for a while. Spaceworld makes more sense to fully show it off with a lot of games, including third party as apposed to just first party stuff.

Spaceworld would be awesome. I just might plan a trip out to Japan if they have one, and it would also be the perfect place to show off Mother 3 if it isn't out yet.

Yeah, me too. A British guy on Live asked me where I lived the other day. I told him Oregon, in America. He was quiet for a sec, then said, "Right. Okay." It's as if I told him I had herpes.

You'd think the "enlightended" remainder of the planet would remember that 40%+ of the US didn't vote for him.

I hope there is one, I miss Space World.

Of course, having to set up MORE demos/presentations only 3 months after E3 must have really pissed off the developers, it's not like they can just work that into their schedule without slowing things down. It's perfect for a Revolution launch party though.

They just don't want to unveil this REVOLUTION in America, I tell y'ah. Because in Spaceworld, nobody can hear you scream.

AND...

A VOTE FOR BUSH = GENITAL HERPES.

Oregon is good times. Sorta. Anyway, I live there too.

Gotta love it. There is no other forum on the face of this Earth that can discuss the facts and rumours of whether Nintendo will bring out their big event and then turn it into a soft ridicule of US soil in less than 1 page.

GAF, I love you :lol

Well there are other reasons to not show at E3.

1.) If they really do have something cool, it gives Sony a bit too much time to copy (MS probably can't). Better safe than sorry.

2.) E3 already has the XBox 360/PS3, Nintendo would probably prefer a seperate event where all the attention is on the Revolution anyway.

3.) 3 1/2 months of extra time is actually a lot during a console's "formative" stages. Think of it like a baby, things come together faster when its young. You can really polish the system and the demos that you want to show during that time.

It may not neccessarily mean August either. Nintendo could also move the show back to its original Shoshinkai slot which previously was in late November.

I think that NIntendo had better show REV games at E3 if they decide not to show the console. E3 can't come soon enough. Bring on the next gen titles, still too early but oh well, I won't be buying til next year at the very latest. I'll pick up the handhelds first. :)

If there is Spaceworld this August, then this may actually be the first August I will look forward to since the last Spaceworld.

Spaceworld has traditionall been in late August.

Shoshinkai, the show that preceded Spaceworld (where the N64 was unveiled) traditionally used to be in late November.
