So some of you may have read my fake skin thread recently.
I went out today to the fabric store and found some of the foam, and I've currently got a piece drying on a line now so I can see how it works.
That being said, it's now time to move on to phase 2 of this whole endeavor(sp?). Seeing as how I'm going to be using this fake skin for arms and torsos and whatnot, I've got to figure out exactly how to fill these things. Anyone know? I'm trying to figure out what to fill the arms and whatnot with so that when they get bitten off, it'll look like muscle underneath, and of course, be very bloody.
As for the torsos, I'd imagine I can put some kind of bag inside of the foam, and fill that with blood, intestines, and various fake organs. The arms are killing me, though. I just don't really know how to go about getting the insides to look somewhat realistic.
Also, anyone know how to effectively use tubing to gey blood to flow out of the wounds? I haven't been able to think of a very good way yet to get it to come out when the skin is bitten off.
Another thing: fake ribs. Anyone have any idea what to do for them? Should I just get one of those toy skeletons and use the ribs from that, or is there some way I can make them out of cardboard or something?
Also, does anyone kow any good special effects books/sites that might cover this stuff? I understand Savini has a recipe for stuff called "flesh chunks", but I've got no idea where to find this.
I realize this is a broad set of stuff, so if you can contribute any kind of input at ALL, please do. Anything, no matter how insignificant you think it is, might help.
