Speculation: GameCube Jr. coming?

NOTE: I call it Jr. like Nintendo did with the Super Famicom and I believe Famicom as well. Other suitable names include Mini, SP, or something else.

With this news of the Revolution being barely bigger than 3 DVD cases, do you think Nintendo might release a GameCube revision that's pretty small as well?

Sorry if this was done already.

This is a good point though, if they can make revolution that thin and it is backwards compatible, wouldn't it be easy to make a game cube handheld?

If Revolution is small, lightweight, and played GameCube games...

wouldn't a mini-GameCube just dilute the potential sales of the Revolution?

I vote that it ain't happening, except possibly as a "for fun" redesign a year after Rev has been out.

The Gamecube is huge and bulky. I can barely fit two of them inside a shoe box. What kind of monstrosity is that?

A) I doubt someone seriously considering spending $300 on the Revolution would decide instead to go for the $50-80 GameCube. It'd be for those who can't/won't spend so much money on a console. Certainly I've been a proponent of trying to get GCN into the market space PSOne has had for the last few years.

B) If someone going for the Revolution did instead buy a cheap GameCube... well, as long as they ended up spending the same amount on software, I doubt Nintendo would mind.

Probably not.

Though, I really want to see a Crystal, see-through, Cube.
