Are you implying that Harry Osborn becoming head of R&D at age 21 and having Doc Ock created during a joint experiment in creating a miniature sun in a NYC apartment is not fucked up?

NO, please god NO

super hero comics all have fucked up storylines, thank god the movies aren't true to them

Man don't remind me, I tend to forget sometimes about the whole clone saga debacle that pratically ruined all of Spider-man.

EDIT: That being said, I like how the faithful to the comics is the theme and characterization that is handled well, hence why Batman before Begins never sat right with me.

There's nothing too wrong with classic Spidey's storylines. Back then, there weren't too complex and it was clear what they were trying to do. But in the era of venom and onward... meh, I just hope he completes his intended trilogy with classic villains.7

it's still miles ahead from your normal comic

Haha, true, if that is of issue, you difinately have not read enough of comics. It far out there but it's entertaining. Spider-man 2 doesn't even touch the extremeness of what the comics have reached again and again.

what so hard about completing the trilogy with Harry Osborn being the villain yeah it's cliched to have two best friends become mortal enemies but fuck that shit, end the trilogy that way plz. after all the build up that Harry Osborn and Peter Parker rivalry got in Spider-man 2 to suddenly make Harry Osborn take a back sit to venom is a little anti-climatic for me.

same here, the part in 2 when Harry finds the Goblin suit was PERFECT, damn I loved that scene

I'd rather go back to waiting tables than to do Spider-Man 2 again.

:lol Burrrrn...

I reckon Harry's got a big hand in the Venom suit, wheather it's discovering it or creating it. It's the only thing that makes sense.

Venom in the movie = sell out.

It's the only reason Raimi would put such a shitty XTR3RME character in the movie - money. Sony knows the stupid teenagers love their shitty anti-Spider-Man so they likely pressured Raimi into putting the character into the movie to make more money.

Well no shit. Its a movie designed to generate profits.

...then one day a co-worker comes in with a bag of comics he just purchased and one of them had this shoeless old man with Spidey's powers.

Dude, the whole Eziekiel arc was friggin' awesome. JMS with JRJr on Amazing Spider-Man was so good. For a lot of people (myself included) that's when and where Amazing Spider-Man got good again. All of the recent Marvel ASM books start with their run as trade #1, too. Sad they split up shortly after the whole Ezekiel thing drew to a close. They came in, pumped the series way up, and then took off. Now it's kinda dithering off again. :\
