Splinter Cell 4 video interview (co-op and X360 details)

I'll watch it later, but I think the achievements alone may help me give a damn about a Splinter Cell campaign now.

Hmm yeah, it would be cool if there where achievements like "finish Campaign with zero kills'' or "neck grab "insert villian" and stuff like that.

I am not up on Xbox Live that much....what are achievements in a nutshell...

Pros and cons?

Thanks :)

Each retail game (non XBLA) has up to 1000 points in achievements they can award the player as they progress through the game. For instance, finishing a level could be an achievement, or finding a secret path, or object. This also includes online based goals, such as 100 deathmatch kills, or games. Basically it's just a bunch of goals set by the developer to encourage the gamer to play the game thoroughly and, some times, in different ways. If you check the gamercards, you'll notice a gamerscore. These achievement points are added to this gamerscore. For instance, you can look at my gamercard here: http://live.xbox.com/member/IJoel .

Oh, and Xbox Live Arcade games have up to 200 points to distribute in achievements.

Notes:

Double Agent, so you play both terrorist/nsa. You are trying to get into the terrorist cell, so you will get mission objectives for both sides. That could lead to having to decide whether to sacrifice a fellow nsa's life to save millions. etc etc.

Xbox 360 version = Ubisoft Shanghia. Will push graphics. Other platforms developed by someone else using the splinter cell chaos engine. So Xbox 360 will look a lot better.

3v3 multiplayer online. also spy vs spy game mode. New gadgets and weapons split by NSA weapons and Terrorist ones.

Thats about all I remember.

good lord, man, back in the day I used to love your reviews for their wealth of information. GET BACK ON THE HORSE :D

Well, I no longer get paid for my game reviews and am no longer young and single (old fart now with a wife and 2 kids) so this might contribute to that somewhat :)

don't worry, I was half serious, and half sarcastic :P

I can't wait.

And must MGS be mentioned in every SC thread and visa versa? Can't we all just get along?

My guess is that the people that don't like Splinter Cell just suck at it ;) :lol

I'll probably be buying MGS4 anyhow :)

I am not going to hate on the new game just cause I hated MGS2 (haven't played MGS3 since I no longer have a PS2). I will go into it with an open mind.

Oh snap! Gotta get back to CoD2 for the Veteran accomplishments. But yeah, the scores are pretty close.
