Stacked for PSP: Featuring online play with voice chat

IGN's got a preview for Stacked for the PSP, which you can read if you click here.

They are confirming that the game will have online play, which as far as I know is the first third-party PSP game to have online play. Even more interesting is that this game will have both text chat and voice chat capabilities!

Hopefully, we'll hear about a PSP headset soon. After all, I'm sure that the little symbol of the headphones near the PSP's headphone jack shows a microphone sticking out for a good reason. :)

they can probably use the remote control slot for voice input...

It's a duped article, wasn't edited right. Some changes just got made to the article from the PS2 and Xbox version of it - online, yes, chat, unknown.

To make things a bit more interesting, Stacked is designed for voice and text chat {there aren't yet details on how this will work on PSP or if all the online features will make the handheld version, but we can confirm -- yes, the handheld game WILL have online play).

Nope, Now Production's 3D puzzle game Intelligent License was confirmed to have online play last month. THis brings PSP's online playable game count to seven...

01 ATV Offroad Fury (SCEI)
02 Gretzky NHL (SCEI)
03 Intelligent License (Now Production)
04 MLB (SCEI)
05 NBA (SCEI)
06 Stacked (Myelin Media)
07 Twisted Metal: Head On (SCEI)

...versus four for DS...

01 Animal Crossing to Go! (Nintendo)
02 Mario Kart DS (Nintendo)
03 Ultimate Brain Games DS (Telegames)
04 Ultimate Card Games DS (Telegames)

While voice chat for the PSP version of this game may be up in the air, now IGN is reporting in this article posted today that there is a PlayStation 2 version coming out...and it will have cross-platform online play with the PSP version!

Holy shit.

Indeed.

Not only that, but:

...the PS2 version of Stacked will work directly with the PSP version, letting players maintain a single identity across platforms. Transfer your career mode data and custom profile to your PSP via USB cable to take your card game with you.

Nice.
