Standing desk worth it?

My current desk is bit too low, but i am wondering if i should go all the way and get electric standing desk. Do you have one and do you actually use it?

100%. I'm standing at my desk right now, as a matter of fact.

I use it every day, would recommend anyone who works from home a lot to get one.

There really are no downsides.

Yes

I've been stretching and standing more than ever. I actually find working while standing pretty comfortable too

yep.

got a dual motor flexispot in the office and since 6'2" can raise so I can adjust my chair so my legs are the correct distance from the floor when seated.

Yes, standing desk all the way. I have a big L-shaped one from Workrite Ergonomics that I love.

However:

When I was in high school and college, I worked retail. I was on my feet a lot. Then I got an office job and sat in a cubicle for about 6 years. My back pain went from occasional annoyance to constant frustration during that time. I researched what I could do to help relieve it, and the #1 thing was spend less time sitting. I came in on a weekend and converted my cubicle to a standing height. I wasn't prepared for how out of shape my body had gotten. Specifically, I had really bad pain in my knees from standing all day. I had to order a tall stool with a footrest and take multiple breaks from standing and still work each day.

We eventually moved offices and I got an electric desk. I switched back to a regular mesh office chair with a thick foam pad. Just don't be surprised if you have some aches and pains in your hips, knees and ankles at first. That's just your body adjusting back to being on your feet more.

I find them to be just a clutter on the desk. It's nice to have once in a while but id rather talk a walk down the hall when I need to get up and chat with someone.

I got one way cheaper than I had expected (like $380 or so?) a few years ago. I should use it standing more often, but it does feel good when I am in that position. The past few years, particularly, I have been spending a lot less time being active (my own fault) so it does make me feel better to even do this little, ha.

Recommendation, get one of those ergonomic pads to stand or your feet will get sore quickly. I got some decent sandals that seem to do the trick and I always wear them when I am standing at the desk, and it has a noticeable effect on minimizing my fatigue.

Most are adjustable in a few seconds with the pull of a lever :) can switch between sit and stand.
I was kidding. we have those adjustable ones at work. I like them because even if you use it as sitting desk, you can set the exact height of your desk

we have fancy electric adjusting ones where you just push a button
