Star Fox Direct happening [05/06/2026]

Character design looks like the SNES box and manual art to me.

Star Fox 64 is one of my favorite games of all time - however,
Im disappointed that its a 1 to 1 remake of the original. I want something new. I played it a billion times already.
Hopefully this leads to a brand new game on this engine.

Still, I suppose this acts both as an ultimate homage to the original game - but also a sales test for future installments.

Love the added cutscenes and prologue with fox's dad. SF64's real ending of the hardest route is one of the coolest moments in gaming.

It's a nice side dish. Game looks great and the foundations are super solid, but it's a very very short game that doesn't hold the $60 pricetag in this day an age from a value standpoint. If there's like an inmense postgame that doubles the levels form the original and one hour of high quality engaging cutscenes I could see it but not presented as is. Anyway, as a side dish is pretty good and I'll get it but this console needs a really high quality prestige title soon. This ain't gonna drive sales.

You see a new ending beating it on hard right??

No.
Beating on hard you see a new screen congratulating you for the archievement.
They might change that though. Playing on hard is no small feat, any single touch on your airwing makes you lose s wing, and thats fatal for some levels and bosses.

Someone outside Nintendo is making this, or at least the newly acquired Nintendo Singapore (formerly Bandai Namco Singapore). The graphics, the selectable difficulty levels, the cutscenes, it all flies in the face of classic Nintendo and I'm shocked it's happening.

But I'm deeply thrilled.

If anything else then but to have something to play and to buy something physical, I went ahead and pre-ordered. For physical is a good happy medium. Ended up using Amazon.
