Oh okay, for a second I thought you didn't even know it did that.

But I dunno, why does any conquering nation make themselves more powerful? To keep conquering I guess.

I see. I was always under the impression that the Empire controlled everything that's why I asked the question. I'm like why make a Death Star when you control everything. I see now that they didn't.

Why does America needs nukes? To make absolutely sure that nobody messes with them.

It didn't work in either case.

Quoth the original Star Wars:

"I've just received word that the emperor has dissolved the council permanently. The last remnants of the Old Republic have been swept away."
-"That's impossible. How will the emperor maintain control without the bureaucracy?"
-"The regional governors now have direct control over their territories. Fear will keep the local systems in line. Fear of this battlestation"

So, there you go :p

AHHH *click* see I thought by the time SW4 started that the Empire was good and in control of the Galaxy. What I see now is that they JUST tried that Empire shit.

Jesus hell, I don't know whether it's just because it appears to have a bouncing rack or what, but I would have sworn that Boogie's avatar was animated just now. The eyes kept getting bigger and shrinking again.

Maybe I just need to look away from the monitor for a bit.

If the Empire was in complete control, there wouldn't be a Rebellion right? It's impossible to have complete control, and the the Emperor knew this. So, he built the biggest damn gun he could. If the Death Star hadn't been destroyed, it could have entered a star system, and by it's mere prescense alone, control a planet.

In the old Star Wars strategy game Rebellion, if you built a Death Star, and moved it into a system, it automatically fell under your control for manufacturing, resources, etc. However, if you ever used it to destroy a planet, systems would begin to turn against you faster. The first time I built one in the game, I immediatly jumped to Endor and "test fired" the gun. ;)
