"If you're a fan of Star Wars or action games, Republic Commando is easy to recommend. The single-player aspect combines the elements of this generation's best action games with an added flavor that's all its own. The campaign offers nonstop action from start to finish, making the game easily one of the most enjoyable and memorable Star Wars experiences in recent memory. Our only caveats are that the campaign won't last you long, and the multiplayer is merely competent, which doesn't make the game stand out in a crowded market of first-person shooters. Even with that in mind, the quality single-player experience of Republic Commando should not be missed by anyone who fancies him- or herself an action game aficionado."

I thought the PC demo was pretty damned fun. I'll pick this up on the PC when it gets down to ~$20, because it likely won't take long :p

The PC demo is probably a better representation of the game than the Xbox demo. I ran through it this morning and enjoyed it much more than the demo included with KOTOR. I was kinda worried that the game might be a little to repetive with just the 4 main weapons but have learned from playing the PC demo that there are a dozen different weapons you can pick up and use along the way!

What makes the demo better is how effective it is at showing you how all the different elements come together. For example, with a few clicks you can put your teammates in/out a support sniping/heavy artillery position, cut an enemy down with your blaster, take his array gun (shotgun), mow down a group of aliens, throw a grenade then move your teammates up to the next position. This can all be done intuitively in seconds and the resulting display of flying body physics and firepower is very satisfying, almost Halo like. I'm really looking forward to getting the full game next week.

Jeez that demo has made up most of your minds already, huh? Well I spose that's what demos do. Personally I liked the OXM Xbox demo and think the full-version will be awesome. And I'm NOT a Star Wars fan in the least. Just a FPS fan.

I enjoyed the demo. Maybe because I haven't played something like Rainbow 6?

For those who disliked the demo, maybe the final version turned out much better? How old was that demo, anyways?
