Sales in Canada of the Xbox grew 53 percent in 2004 and managed to capture 39 percent of all console gaming sales. While the gaming industry in Canada only grew by 19 percent, a figure that has made Canada one of the fastest growing gaming markets in the world.
According to Microsoft the Xbox Live gaming service is the largest online console gaming community in Canada with data indicating that the total Xbox Live subscriber base virtually doubled in year-over-year growth for 2004 (96 per cent).
