Thanks, but I like my first experience with a game to be as vanilla as possible. I only use mods if absolutely necessary (Durante's Dark Souls fix) or if I want to screw around after finishing it, though this rarely happens.

SHTUP, SHMUP, Four Hundred and Vurt's Space don't change anything to the gameplay. It's more about (vastly) improving the original assets. I really recommend them, as they're faithful to the original game.

Rebirth is different though, as it changes quite a lot of stuff (I personally don't like it).

Something I just noticed is that the powerup items hop around in sync to the PAH PAHs. Oh lord.

Enemies also dance with the P'ah, P'ah. Why is this so hated? I don't even pay attention to the thing. Kind of sad Nintendo killed some of the good will towards them with all the asset reuse and 2 of the same game few months apart. Not leting aside the fact that is not an adequate launch title.

Hopefully Steam buys Nintendo in the not so distant future and do things properly. You know like releasing a Mario game every 7 years.

The other is on GOG.

It seems to be almost the same version (modern systems friendly), except it has apparently not been pre-patched correctly, as stated here http://steamcommunity.com/app/238210/discussions/0/828938532755488565/.

It's no big deal, but people who want to use some specific mods might have to do some work to clean the mess.

That would be fine if I had a Wii U, but there's no way to replace music in good ol' Wii, as far as I know. I hope the 3DS version doesn't have that same annoying music.

What a phenomenal first half of the year. Dyad came to Steam also. With prospect of Super Time Force, Spy Party and The Witness this year is going to be dominated by indies.
