I KNEW IT. Just got home, booted up Wolfenstein, back at the same checkpoint where I'd been repeatedly killed last night, over and over again, breezed through it (ok, on the second go). Always happens. I ain't even mad though, means I get more of that sweet, sweet Wolfenstein.

They say: "Inspired by games like Castlevania, Megaman, Kirby, Metroid, Zelda, I Wanna Be The Guy, Ys and a lot more, look forward to a very challenging open-world game that is full of references, secrets, monsters, items, and modes! ". Not quite feeling it just watching the trailer but I guess it might be cool?

'Open world' sure does get thrown around a lot these days! That would be really hard to pull off with a platformer... maybe they mean something along the lines of big, continuous maps like in Super Metroid?

I hope Apotheon is still scheduled to hit this month as we're a week in and there's been no release date announcement. On a related note, I think it's safe to say "early" pre-purchasers won't be receiving beta access as originally promised since there's been absolutely no word on that, either.
