Steam Deck OLED Refurb Available

So Valve has some Steam Deck OLEDs in stock finally. Both the 512GB and 1TB varieties.

512GB is $439 which is $110 less vs new and has full warranty.

I decided to grab it finally and will sell my vanilla Deck and Asus Ally. Already have 2TB in the Ally which I will replant in the OLED.

Figure might as well go this way while waiting to see what Zen 2 handhelds bring to the table.

I nabbed one right away. I'm going to sell my launch 512GB LCD model. I don't think the Deck 2 is coming until late 2026 at the earliest.

Dang, bought the Legion Go for my son yesterday for $409. Would have considered this but I still think the Legion Go works better for him with Gamepass and the other games he plays.

Yeah, if you want to do GamePass, Epic, etc… Go or Ally are probably a better idea.

I mainly got it for the OLED and long battery life. Ally X is way too much for Z1 handheld considering we will probably see Z2 releases in H1 2025.

Surprisingly I’d watched a small YouTube channel who bought a refurb LCD model and, despite a flawless exterior, that unit and the replacement one both had significant hardware defects. I think it was random crashing and then not rebooting properly etc.

Persuaded me to just go brand new with my Oled.

But valve said they are doing 100 tests before selling a refurb

I’m tempted, but at this point I think I’m just gonna wait for the Steam Deck 2. I don’t have solid insider info, but I’ve been told there’s a good possibility of a new model coming out in 2025.

I am thinking 2026 as next year’s Zen 2 isn’t going to give them that generational leap that Valve wants.

Now I am nervous.

I so want to trade in my lcd for that oled.
I am planning to sell mine on eBay or StockX or something. Same as the Ally. Figure $250 should be doable for 512GB with the anti glare screen. Ally maybe $300? Of course got to take off eBay fees.
