Oh rock of ages, do not crumble, love is breathing still. Oh lady moon shine down, a little people magic if you will.
I've been playing quite a lot of The Bureau the last couple of day's and I have to say it's gone beyond my expectations. I was expecting a "playable" sci-fi game with some light tactical and it may sound cheap, but that's enough for me. It's far more then that, though, and I'm really enjoying it. A lot.

Combat is a bit like Mass Effect 2 but with a bigger focus on using the tactical wheel, more options and dumber squadmates. Standard weapons feel weak and puny but the alien stuff controls pretty good, which I guess is classic X-Com; beginning weak and getting stronger by conquering enemies and studying they're technologies. It's a shame they didn't include that as something the player could do. When you find a new weapon on the battlefield you'll get to own it and really, that's it. I would have liked being able to strategize and enhance some stuff in the secret underground facility, not just running around talking to people. Which is fun, even though the story and it's script are nothing to write home about, just like most of the characters, but I would have really liked a bit more... X-Com. But I'm not going to judge the game for what it's not.

Been playing on Veteran and there have been some pretty though sections already. Conquering all odds and blowing up an enemy ship and it's ground army with barely any ammo left is pretty great.
Loving the combination between 90's sci-fi and the atmospheric (sorry Derrick) 60's setting.

A big thanks to mcfishstick for giving the game away with Modbot. :)

Been on a bit of a backlog blitz. Finished:
- The Blackwell Legacy
- Blackwell Unbound
- Blackwell Convergence
- Lifeless planet

the 3 Blackwell games were very enjoyable to finish. it's been a while since I was able to play a point and click and just figure out what to do next without having to look up a guide/walkthrough so that was great. Now to find that key for the Blackwell Deception.

Lifeless planet was the first game I ever kickstarted so finishing that was special, and it had a nice ending to it. It was also neat to see my name in the credits.

They sure weren't kidding about the "walking simulator" tag on the store page though. haha

Yeah. I also liked the Game, though I wish they would have offered a more tactical approach when it came to the missions.
I wish we could have choosen which kind of missions we would wanna take on similar like in the strategy games.
Felt too linear.

Your post reminds me that I hope that the Blackwell bundle goes on sale for $5 during the summer sale.

Though it was apparently $2.99 on GOG the other day and I completely missed it :/

It's only ten hours before I'm unbanned from the Market!

Is One Finger Death Punch the first of its genre? I see so much potential in the formula but also feel there's a big waste of opportunity in the game. It might sound as if I'm not enjoying it but the exact opposite is true: I've been playing it for 3 days straight and am still having stupid fun.

I just wish it had many optional gameplay tweaks like combo boosters, time reversal, upgradable power-ups, a much more balanced increase in difficulty, among other things.

I hope we get more games in the future that follow the same route and actually expand the mechanics.

I finally climbed out of that Mario Kart 8 hole only to fall into a Destiny Alpha hole.

Then back into the MK8 hole.

What'd I miss? Summer Sale? Delisted game giveaways? Same Old Shit indie bundles?

Summer Sale starts today. Indie Bundles have nice things. 90% of GL games still look shitty. Too much indie-games on Steam now.

I used a VPN last year for activating a game IIRC and couldnt use the market/trade for like 3 or 4 days into the Summer Sale :(

I'd chalk that up to a coincidence. I've never copped a market/trading cooldown for using a VPN and I've activated region-locked keys or unlocked games early many times.

Summer sale starts tomorrow/today depending on time zone, probably more delisted games but I know one of the You Don't Know Jack games was delisted, and yes.

Yeah. I dont know. I am using VPNs regularly in China now. I am in Taiwan, HK, Korea, China or LA every other day.
But last year it showed something like "You logged in from a different device." or something like that.

Or... I paid with my CC the first time. Maybe that was it.

Hmmm based on what I've read, these flash deals are pretty "flashy". Is it a blink and you miss it thing, like 10 minutes or something?

6 hours or something like that. Maybe 8.

Feel free to add me. My profile is set as my GAF account's homepage, so just click my name and then select "Visit JaseC's homepage" from the small drop-down menu. You can also just post a link to your profile, but I don't add people myself. ;)

Check the channel, you'll see a lot of person there as soon as Steam/GAF servers crash during sale, asking if it did crash.

Saoirse is everyone's friend.

Edit: Some day I'll spell her name right on the first try.

I know not everyone is lucky enough to necessarily have someone to play games with, but many games benefit a lot from having someone, even if the game isn't two-player in the traditional sense.

My wife and I almost needed counseling after playing Donkey Kong Country Returns and SMBWii together, so this can be a double-edged sword.

Saiorse is everyone's friend.

Only if they make the first move. :p I should also mention that I generally ignore friend requests if we don't share a friend or invite-only group, so if I happen to have ignored someone here at some point, I apologise.

If you're talking about Steam Guard, then yes, that was it, otherwise:

Or... I paid with my CC the first time. Maybe that was it.

If you topped up your Steam Wallet using a payment method you hadn't yet used on the store, then that was it. ;)

lol adds are flooding in since I posted my link. Thanks, guys.

Though I'm still a n00b Steamer evident by the fact that others have their usernames on their links, whereas mine still has a random sprawl numbers!

I should probably change my pic and name on Steam to match my forum one... Yeah... That's a good idea.

Well with a Steam nickname and avatar like that I'm going to have ask what your favourite car is.
Lamborghini Gallardo LP570-4 Superleggera <3

Now that i think of it. I'm not gonna change my name. Thank you KenOD! LOL.

Someone labeled my Ichi level as rubbish! OK, so I made the simplest one possible for the playfire thingy and even called it achievement, but no need to rub it in! :p

Anyway play Ichi, fantastic little puzzle game.

How do you join the NeoGAF group, folks?
I think you go to Community, search for people, and search "NeoGAF". I'm not too sure though, i'm not even in the group. I should probably find it haha.

Edit: Oh wait it's invite only. Thanks for the invite KenOD!

Jesus, dude. I thought this guy on my list with 500+ games was hardcore, but 1,000+? Nice!

I wonder if the maker of Ichi is still posting on the board, I know he was in the iOS thread for a while, but it's been a while. Well even if he isn't, still a fellow GAFFER, so that's yet another reason to get the game besides just being a good puzzle title.

Good choice, on both points.

Pfft. My favourite car is a Toyota Corolla.

That's a poor choice... because they are family friendly prices to buy.

Joining an open group is done that way, but some like the NeoGAF group is invite only. Which can be joined simply by posting in here and asking or someone sending it to you as I just did.

Make sure to visit the chat, accessible through the friend list when you open up the Steam client.
