Steam Summer Sale 2025: June 26th - July 10th

Actually there are quite a few historical lows, here are some:

When this happens third party stores lower their prices even more, at least on average.

There are always some historical lows, but overall I don't see this sale being any different or better than what we've had over the past four years. Not that I'm complaining, I've never found Steam sales "bad" like people here often do.

Before you get any of these I just wanted to inform you that Dead Space Remake has traversal stutters whatever you hardware or settings are, if your hardware is not high end expect even more random spikes as well. This shit probably will not be fixed as EA has just said fuck it, not worth. The Deluxe edition has cosmetics only and one of them is also bugged lol. FSR and DLSS also are not sharp for some reason, quite blurry. TAA High is the best.

I was going to make a separate Steam Summer Sale walk of shame thread where we list our pickups and how much total we spent. I'm kinda embarrassed though. I got a Steam Deck recently and just could stop buying shit on sale.

My haul is rather modest:
Caves of Chud
Geneforge 1 Mutagen
Against the Storm DLC
Expeditions Rome
Battlezone 98

Is State of Decay 2 worth it for £6? I know it's had a bunch of updates and new content added over the years, but if it's a jank fest and just OK, I'll leave it since I've already got plenty to play.

Every sale I go through my wishlist, add like $500 worth of shit into my cart, go through it and see what the heart desires, and cull it down to $50-$75. These were the winning entries this time around. Some of these games I had on my wishlist for years. I also tend not to buy EA or normie AAA type games - I play those on PS5.

Although I wanted Against the Storm DLC because that game is fantastic.

Yes I'm enjoying it, the combat esp. melee feels really good. Shooting is nice as well. It's cheap and fun and has a nice loop. Running over zombies in car by opening your door never gets old. It's neat and imo fine for that price but don't expect something like TLoU2 or even Dying light 1, 2, Dead Island 2 etc.

I wrote about it above, copy pasting:

State of Decay 2 (Juggernaut Edition)
Hidden surprise. I never thought I would like this but the gameplay loop is oddly satisfying. The combat is tight, solid and feels great.

The flow goes like this: you pick randomly generated characters with random skills/points, you kill randomly generated zombies, you loot, you drive, you bring loot back to your base/camp, you upgrade camp, you find new survivors/characters to populate your camp, you die - that charcter stays dead so just pick another one from your camp, you can do this anytime, you clear areas/hearts, you unlock fast travel/character change options, you select a leader, you complete leader's quests, you repeat, you clear maps.

I think it's pretty fun, even solo. You can pretty much do a lot solo. This is basically TLoU2 but kindergarten level and with a focus on replayablity and creating your own story.

Has anyone used the key site gamivo.com? I noticed gg puts in deals from them and they have some games cheaper than any other place.

I'm gonna preface this by saying I just got a certified refurbished Steam Deck OLED. I'm absolutely in love with it and I obviously got infected with some sort of Steam Sale blood lust. Anyways, prices include tax.

Planet of Lana - $5.29
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder's Revenge - $15.89
Shovel Knight: Treasure Trove - $21.19
GRIS - $1.58
Disco Elysium - The Final Cut - $4.23
Death's Door - $5.29
Outer Wilds - $15.89
DREDGE - $13.24
ANIMAL WELL - $19.86
Little Nightmares II - $3.17
Black Mesa - $2.11
Blasphemous - $2.64
Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Complete Edition - $10.59
Journey - $5.24
Crash Bandicoot™ N. Sane Trilogy - $4.23
Cyberpunk 2077 - $20.47
Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty - $20.47
Red Dead Redemption 2 - $15.89
Bad North - $3.17
Untitled Goose Game - $9.53
Neon White - $13.24

Total: $221.68 for essentially 20+ games.

For the most part I tried to stick to games that got 93% or higher in Steam reviews, run well on the deck, and had generous discounts (60%+). This should last me for a couple of years at least. From now on I'm going to limit my seasonal Steam Sale sprees to around $50 bucks.

What I highlighted I can vouch for great pickups! Shovel Knight is a bit pricey considering how old it is but overall great job. You should be proud of it.

I am genuinely worried that you somehow have accumulated 4900 games, and didn't already have Cyberpunk.

They used to be OK, but the last few times I tried them the seller conveniently didn't have keys anymore. This was at a time when the games had risen in value and I was purchasing them before they went up in price.

In addition to that, they will try every single dirty tactic to sell you their SMART plan bullshit. Even if you decline it, they add it at every stage of the checkout process, so you have to keep removing it.

I'd advise staying well away, Eneba are usually a bit better in this regard and are comparable to Gamivo.
