Apologies if there's already a thread for this, but I couldn't find one.

I stumbled across this story yesterday shared by a band I'm a fan of, safe to say it had a big effect on me. After donating yesterday seeing that Stephen potentially had hours left to live, it felt good knowing I'd done my part in helping him see his goal reached. This morning I woke up to find #stephensstory trending in the UK in Twitter, and the JustGiving page had raised to over £850,000.

At just 19 and smiling in the face of death this boy is a true inspiration. If this story has the same impact on you as it did me, then I encourage those who have even the smallest amount of money spare to donate to a great cause, and help this young man see his goal achieved before he passes.

Stephen Sutton has been battling cancer since the age of 15. On January 13th 2013, shortly after finding out his disease was incurable, Stephen made a Facebook page called “Stephen’s Story”. On the page he outlined a bucketlist of 46 things he wanted to achieve in the near future. Since creating the page Stephen’s following has grown exponentially and he has inspired thousands of others with his positivity and passion for life. He has achieved more than most would in a lifetime; resulting in him winning countless awards in recognition of his inspirational work, most notably he has raised over £560,000 for charity in just one year. This is not a sob story, this is Stephen’s Story

Update - Stephen has now done it! Over £1 million raised for the Teenage Cancer Trust. Please keep donating if you feel it's a worthy cause.

Update 14th May 2014 - Stephen sadly passed away today, you can read his Mother's Facebook update here. So far he's raised £3,279,897.65, and I'm sure this number will continue to increase. RIP Stephen - a true inspiration to us all.

I just read about this guy this morning. What a wonderfully kind and courageous person he is. His story certainly gave me pause to consider the things in my life I consider to be 'big issues' compared to what he's been through.

I hope his positivity stays with him to the very end and that he manages to see his remarkable fundraising goal realised (which I've no doubt it will be, sooner or later).

After only 25 minutes of posting this the campaign is now at £962,205.00 at this time of writing. Pretty incredible support from people around the world.

It might be due to sleep deprivation but I immediately started crying when I clicked his Facebook. What an inspiration, thank you for sharing OP

Absolutely my pleasure. His 'final' message is very touching - https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?...73741827.545091182169272&type=1&stream_ref=10

I've heard on BBC5 Live Radio that he is still alive and is currently asleep. Looks like he'll reach his goal in the next 30 minutes and hopefully be able to see it. I can only imagine how much it'll mean to him.

Pretty incredible the recovery this young man has made this past week. Apparently he coughed up a tumor a few days ago which improved his health dramatically and yesterday he was released from hospital. Great story. Amazing to think that he was on his deathbed a week ago.

Amazing story, but I was really sickened by Cameron sliming up to Stephen today. Such an opportunist wanker, i guess it's extra exposure for the cause but i would have told him to piss off.

Stephen sadly passed away last night.

He raised over 3.2 million for the Teenage Cancer Trust.

RIP.

Pretty much shames all the critics who said Stephen was just pretending to be more sick than he was.

He did a great thing raising that much money and having the bravery to think so selflessly.

There really is a conspiracy theory for everything :(
