Strange Question: Anime without copyrights?

Does the copyright for anime expire after a certain amount of time? Are there anime that can be uploaded that doesnt have copyright anymore?

Or is the copyright always up to date and never expires?

I'm assuming it is subject to the same rules as every other media regarding public domain.

75 years from the death of the author.

Is that true for Anime (or movies/tv shows, etc)?
Because there's usually not a single author. It might have been a single person who wrote the story and created the world and characters but there's also voice acting, music, animation, etc.

If it’s a work for hire having an owner like Disney or something than it’s 95 years from publication. For instance Superman 1938 will expire in 2033. That’s just for action comics 1. If you want later versions you have to wait 95 years from that issues date. Of course this is American law. Japan seems to have 70 years now from for cinematographic works which started in 2004. So any from 1953 would be in then public domain already. And now you have to wait till 2024 for more to drop. So 1953 and before go wild. But even like Astro bot I think the author has the copyright so you still have to wait his life plus 70 years
