---------------------

I've included X-Men and Marvels' gems plus most of their release dates, thanks to Moby Games and GameFAQs. I plan on cleaning the ?? marks and adding Capcom vs. SNK's releases...

I also excluded the Arcade releases for now. Too much is unknown about them.

---------------------

I've added CPS Changer versions (although no clear releases dates are available) and a Dreamcast version of Street Fighter Zero 3 released in Japan BEFORE a Saturn version (thanks Ourumov). I've also added Capcom Generation 5 on Saturn.

---------------------

I've added the DOS version of Street Fighter for USA (no release date available - I remember seing this back in 1988). I've added the DOS version of Super Street Fighter II: The New Challengers for USA (thanks Anyanka). I've moved the TurboGrafx-16 version of Street Fighter II, that was officially called Street Fighter II: Champion Edition (thanks Kobun Heat).

93 releases.

I am planning on buying Street Fighter Anniversary Collection for PlayStation 2 at the end of the month... Which one would you consider the best version of the game, excluding the Arcade incarnations?

levious

That throwing stick stunt of yours has boomeranged on us.
You included Street Fighter: The Movie...

why exclude anything at that point?

Xbox version isn't due till Janurary, so PS2 for now.

- SF2 was never released for the US TG-16, but Fighting Street (Street Fighter) was, for the CD-ROM system. Street Fighter II' Champion Edition made it out on HuCard in Japan.

- I don't think the SMS SFII was legitimate, but I could be wrong (they did a lot of crazy legit games for the thing in Brazil and whatnot).

- I don't remember any SFII being released for DOS/Windows PCs before SSFIIT. I remember some pirate versions kicking around but that's it. Street Fighter I *was* released for the PC, though.

- This is "North American" releases but you have some Japan-only stuff on there.

Japan only -

Sharp X68000
Street Fighter 2' Champion Edition
Super Street Fighter 2

I can tell you that SF2 CE on X68000 is basicly identical to the arcade, unlike SF2 CE on PC Engine HuCard or SF2 SCE on Genesis.

Yeah, there was a port ... one of those godawful off-brand ones made before Capcom cared about PC.

I played it at the 1992 Summer CES in Chicago. or at least I played some PC version of SF2. the graphics were awesome. large sprites, full color, like the arcade, unlike the SNES. but man did it ever *move* like shit. it wasnt very playable because of the horrendous framerate and animation. I have no idea if what got released was anything like what I played at CES.

Back when I was just a teen-monk, I regularly played a port of SSF2T on my PC. It was a good port, as far as looking, sounding, and moving like the real thing.

What I played it with is the real anecdote. Having nothing else suitable at the time, I used a Thrustmaster FCS with four buttons. I had to throw shoryukens with that thing. Them days sucked, but at least it was the version where Chun-Li bent over during kikoken.

Yes, and Street Fighter Zero 2 Alpha is Street Fighter Alpha 2 Gold in the US. And Street Fighter Zero 3 Upper was never released in the US (except for GBA)

I own 22 of those.

There is a port of just regular SF II for PC. It sucks.

Among the other mistakes pointed out, the list has Zero 2 AND Alpha 2 listed as Saturn games.

Yeah! That was one of the very few C64 games that I actually purchased. Well, SF at least.

And I played that one with the one button joystick! God damn I had it rough back then.

I don't know... Too many Capcom vs. SNK and Marvel incarnations. I'm having a hard time trying to clean up my "Street Fighter" only releases list so... (And yeah, Street Fighter: The Movie sucked)

---------------------

IS THIS LIST BETTER?

All I got for the Vernal Equinox was this stupid tag
Should the CPS Changer really be counted under "home releases?" It's basically the arcade boards, right? Doesn't count Jarrod. :)

SF1 came out on PC in the US.

There was also a PC port of Super SF II: The New Challengers. It came out AFTER SSF2T and came with a free Capcom controller.

Finally bought a new PSP, but then pushed the demon onto someone else. Jesus.

Why not, they were sold to the consumer market. It was more like NeoGeo AES than anything, an arcade system for the home.
