Street Fighter XBL-Arcade: Controller Options?

Wireless or not, there's no farkin' way I'm gonna use a pad for this.
Most people I know are just picking up a DOA stick and calling it good, but is that really our only option? Has a dedicated SF stick been announced? Has anyone sucessfully kicked together one for DOA? Any chance of a USB adapter for my closet-full of existing sticks, or a wireless stick that doesn't suck ass?

p.s. Any chance this hasn't been discussed to death already? If so, then I apologize...here's a picture of an angry banana:

That picture disturbs me.

I'm just gonna hold fast and wait for the inevitable usb adapter.

That banana has moobs. :O

Considering that the controls are encrypted to prevent these kinds of products, you may be waiting a while.

Another stupid M$ move.

shite...didn't know 'bout that.
What about taking an axe to a Madkatz controller, and hacking one together myself?

I believe there were 2 reasons for the encrypted controls on the X360. 1) to keep playfield even. It sucks to play against people using mouse and keyboard when you are using a controller so this move stops that. 2) Money. If they can directly control who can produce certain accessories on their console they can ensure they get a cut. Whether you buy a 1st party controller $$$, or a 3rd party licensed pad $, M$ wins and that's what its all about, for them at least.

I will say I am happy that only M$ branded storage devices will hold game saves to keep people from creating modified saves and using them online ruining certain online games. There is a certain method to the maddness with M$ and they rarely do anything flat out stupid, it all about perspective.

How is the DOA stick? Is it good quality?

It's decent, feels like just any other Hori stick to me...
...more of a Tekken or SC stick, rather than one I'd prefer for SF or GG.

I'm hoping a friend can splice together a Frankenstein stick. Hori body, 360 stick.
(potentially stupid question coming)
360 optical joystick, or xBox 360 stick?

We're actually considering old-skool tourney sticks for that authentic "droppin' the part-time job paycheck at Golfland" feel...
...might even spill a coke or two on the buttons, to really bring back the old days...

http://www.capcom.com/news/news.xpml?prid=550063

Street Fighter II’ Hyper Fighting includes the following features:
• Online game modes

• This spectator-based system is a tribute to the title's arcade roots, allowing online competitors to use a “virtual quarter” to “buy into” heated two player matches
• “Quarters” are used to virtually represent players and pays homage to the arcade tradition of claiming the right to play the next game
• Recapturing the spirit of swarming crowds at arcades, onlookers can watch the current brawl in a game lobby as they wait to battle the victor
• Voice chat support allows players to discuss the battleand even trash talk the current fighters
• Competitors can highlight each other's “quarters” to check out their gamer tag data or add them as friends
• Before entering the game lobby, users can choose either the competitive or casual option which determines whether stats are tracked or not
o Quick Match – jump into a match quickly for instant action
o Optimatch – the best possible match is determined by sorting through a set of filters including number of rounds, turbo speed, chat on or off and friends only
o Create Game – the most popular method for coordinating invite-only matches among friends which allows you to choose among several settings and host games
• Offline game options
o Arcade Mode – simulates the single-player Street Fighter experience where gamers must work their way through a ladder of opponents until they face off against the final boss
o Vs. Mode – allows two friends to select characters and battle it out
o Training Mode – lets gamers practice their fighting skills against a CPU character
o CPU Battle – duke it out against a CPU opponent
• Comprehensive leaderboards
o Overall – the most coveted leaderboard showcases the best overall players from around the globe as determined by a simple point-based system
o Monthly – uses the point-based system to designate the best players in the past 30 days
o Best Character – rankings based on who is the best at using each game character
o Consecutive Wins – tracks winning streaks to see who has won the most matches in a row
• Achievements – complete more than 10 offline and online objectives
• Fully customizable control options – players can map attacks to any of the main buttons and have the choice to map all three punches and/or all three kicks to a single button which simplifies complex moves
• Updated menu screens provide easier navigation
• 5.1 surround sound
• Sound options control the volume of the music and sound effects

Has *anyone* hacked together a 360 joystick? I can't believe everyone was happy with the Hori DOA stick...

.oO(..then again, it *is* DOA...)
