Here's your look at the Sudden Strike 5 announcement trailer for the fifth game in the real-time tactics series. Sudden Strike 5 will be available on PC (Steam, Epic Games), Xbox PC, Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 5 (PS5) in 2026, with Closed Beta registration beginning today (July 16, 2025) on Steam.

Sudden Strike 5 returns to the front lines of World War 2, where the trenches of war-torn Europe and North Africa immerse both new recruits and hardened soldiers in challenging historical scenarios. Sudden Strike 5 will feature a 25-mission campaign, more than 300 playable units, customizable Commanders, and PvP gameplay.

I know a guy who played the old Sudden Strike games, he will be happy about it, I personally never played them but it looks interesting.

The Sudden Strike games, much like the related Blitzkrieg games, have always eluded me for some reason. I remember trying Sudden Strike 1 and 2 as a wee lad and never really playing them for long. But it's good to see the franchise still going.

Can you play as the Germans in their campaign?

Damn, I just realized it's going to be censored because of the German flag.

My purchase depends on three things: - That I can play as the Germans.
- That it has a good online mode.
- That they don't censor any symbols and respect the campaigns and history of the Russians and Germans.
