Congratulations :)

Edit: But the World Record should only be count if you're playing on the original Hardware (NES) without Emulation on PC.

I can understand the sentiment but that would lock many players from competing. Also consider that NES emulation has gotten extremely accurate over the years. There is no advantage when properly emulating. Regardless, there are other categories a player can run if they are a purest.

I don't know all the detail but they do allow many different option than just original hardware.

Approved hardware/software (please specify in the run comment):

NES Categories

  • Original NES, Famicom or Famicom Disk System (FDS)
  • Original NES or Famicom with EverDrive N8 (Pro), PowerPak, KrzysioCart or FDSStick
  • Devices that replicate the functionality of an original NES are allowed only if they use the original CPU, PPU, and Timing Hardware (i.e. Opentendo)
  • Wii, Wii U, Switch and 3DS Virtual Console, GameBoy Advance
  • Nestopia, NestopiaRTA by 108Pi, BizHawk (NesHawk core only), OpenEmu (Nestopia core only), MesenRTA by threecreepio, Mesen2-RTA by 108Pi
  • Frontends used in conjunction with these emulators that can alter the performance (ex. RetroArch) are not permitted
  • If you use Mesen you must use the version linked on the resources page
  • Input display and frame counter are required for emulators that have those features built in
  • NES Classic Edition
  • Analogue NT Mini
  • RetroUSB AVS
  • MiSTer
As for the run congrats to Niftski, I remember when Kosmic held the record they run are down to the 100's of a second. That's wild.

But "extremely accurate" isn't 100% accurate ;)

Edit: He is also playing on a Keyboard (PC) and not the original input Device (NES Gamepad) which feels Wrong!

Niftski pulled off all the same TAS tricks live on stage on real NES hardware at an event. Keyboard is just a preference for him.

Ain't no way these can be as accurate as the others. The Mister core just achieved 100% accuracy a few days ago. How can these perform the same?

I wouldn't know to be honest. My guess would be so other can join in as a starting point. While it isn't an excepted method Kosmic did a run where he ran SMB via the NES games found in the GameCube version of Animal Crossing. His goal was to get a sub 5 minute run.
