I have no idea, but I do know there was a game on MSX with a similar name to this. I can't think of the exact name of it, but it was something like "Super G______ Sisters."
 
Considering one of the biggest crazes in the Girls 4-10 Market is Disney Princesses, perhaps they're looking to take advantage of this with a title revolving around Peach and Daisy, to go along with Peach's DS platformer.

Great Giana Sisters, I believe... I think it was for Commodore or Amiga as well...

It's possible they may have considered the idea at one point, or they were just taking pre-emptive steps against possible knock offs. They also filed for "Gamegirl" years ago.
